The arab post got me thinking, when I was a child I always wanted an Arab, however as I got older and rode a few, I realised they werent my cup of tea.

Ive had Welsh Cobs, which I think are stunning, if not tempermental, and I never fancied myself as a warmblood lover until last year.

I always just saw them as a fashion thing, but Im a real convert now.

My current horses are a Latvian Warmblood, who is extremely clever, can be lazy one minute then ripping your arms out the next, and is the type to take the pee if he can, but hasnt got a nasty bone in his body.

My new horse is Belgian Warmblood x ISH, and I must say Ive never known a horse like him. The way he moves, his temperment, his honesty, I dont know if its a breed thing or we just have a special horse as Ive never owned this combination before, but Ive never felt so safe on a horse, he is so willing and kind.

So I suppose that makes me a Warmblood and Sportshorse fan, which is the last thing I ever thought I would be!

Has to be Irish Draught

I've part owned a TB and owned a 3/4 bred and they very nearly killed me! So woke up one morning and decided I wanted an Irish Draught, by that afternoon I was looking a Super C D and by the end of the week she was mine

Can't beat them for their temperment, ability, soundness, forgiveness and brains!

I had a connie cross on loan which i loved- excellent temp- but could do anything! also very easy to do! although lammie prone!
I also love t/b 's and trekehner's (sp) had a t/b cross and ridden lots of t/b's but never the latter! they look amazing though!

I absolutely love a well put together Friesian - chunky round body type and have decided to get one of those when I am fed up of playing at dressage (which they dont do too well).

i liked ponies .but last year i turned thirty so took the plunge and bought oliver my first horse hes a dutchwarmblood and just a big pony lived out all winter as he is not keen on stable .and will do anything for you a true friend .

My favourite breed has always been Shire x TB's - I had one for a year and 4 days as a lot of peeps on here know - and he ROCKED!!!! But I do still have my favourite horse - a daughter of Sportsnight VII (DWB) and her son, by a TB.

I love my arab, but next horse might well be an anglo, just to get a wee bit more height and possibly scope as I'd like to do a bit more BSJA!
Adore the araby face though, not the really really dished ones but the prettiness of them does it for me! Even my russian trakhener mare regularly gets mistaken for an anglo!

Blast that editing time!!! I wanted to say, that B is becoming my favourite breed - just B, for WHO she is!! Therefore I am going to start a new stud book - B-Line

I knew a Shire x TB which had the sharp brain and temperament of a TB and the strength of the Shire. It was a nightmare

. They dont always turn out like you want them.

I've never known a bad one, I've known about 2 dozen straight crosses or 3/4 of one and 1/4 the other and all have been total stars. Just LOVE them!

I've always loved a "cobby" type horse ~ Welshies being my fave ~ and am honoured & privileged to own a Sec C cross, then had Cobs, and ID x and loved them for that but...

Never was a TB lover, and hadn't had anything to do with CB's ~ but Big Bird fell off the box onto my yard for me to look after ~ and I fell in love...

She's EVERYTHING I could wish for in a horse, and I couldn't love her more if I tried.

TBCB ~ obviously stands for Totally Bonkers, Clever Bird!

I totally love Andalusians but have never owned one, and may never do so..they are just something wonderful to watch.

I never knew much about Highlands before I got one, but she really is a cool pony and I would always want to have one now.

I don't have a specific favourite breed but I definitely have a favourite 'type' if you know what I mean.
I like something with a fair bit of TB in it, flashy mover and a pretty face, allround sports horse type.
I have 2 horses, my older one is my perfect horse (bar the fact he is a cripple LOL) being BWBxTB, well actually 7/8th TB and 1/8 Gelderlander.

The other is 3/4 TB and 1/4 ID, but at 3yo I will wait and see how he turns out, currently I think he's an ugly duckling ... hopefully a swan will emerge

SHOCKING thing to say about him!!! I bet you get swan - albeit with a slightly short neck - right colour though!

LOL, poor rods, but he is an ugly sod at the moment, however iron grey can hide an awful lot so it is a bonus!

However saying that he has grown upwards which is sort of making the long back / short neck look slightly more in proportion, ish ...

Tough one :|

I like the Danish warmbloods specifically because ive always found them to have a highly trainable nature. Perhaps I've been lucky / unlucky (however you want to look at it), but I've never found the Dutch or German horses to have quite the trainability of the Danish horses (although I did have an oldenburg mare who was to die for)

I go for horses with correct paces... but prefer them to then be nice, floaty and expressive.

Speaking of the Danish breeds, I have a real soft spot for the Knabstruppers although only ever rode one (who was lovely), so can't comment on the breed over all. If I could find one with the paces for higher level dressage however, i'd probably be tempted

Love the intelligence and personalities of the Iberian horses. They have such incredible beauty and presence and all the ones Ive had contact with have been again, very trainable. That being said, they don't tend to have the paces for competitive dressage which is why i've never really gone down that route :| If at some point I can afford to have one just for me and not to be fussed about the competition side, then I'd jump at the chance

Ive had quite a few different breeds along the way but my ultimates are the draughts and their crosses.

Im so lucky, I have a wonderful cob (shire/tb and ID breeding) and now, finally my ultimate, a proper, well bred full Irish Draught.

I know some people are real tb enthusiasts and consider them the ultimate horse but having owned and ridden them in the past I have to say .....................

I do prefer a sofa to a bar stool!
