What is the best shampoo to get rid of deep stable stains?

Diamond white, alternatively if heavily stained I have used hibiscrub to get out really stubborn stains.

Another vote for Diamond White (made by Wahl) . . . I wash my mucky grey in SuperPoo and warm water to start with and then use Diamond White for the final/get him really clean bit.

However, the only thing that really works is keeping on top of the stains . . . in the summer I spot wash endlessly and in the winter he gets a tail/legs/mane/head wash every ten days or so (we have a warm water shower and a solarium, so I'm not washing him in the cold . . . and he is fully clipped and rugged so I'm not stripping necessary oils from his coat).

thank you. I do spot wash my grey almost every day in warm water aswell. But the diamond white seems to get the stains off everywhere but his thighs. He allways seems to be stained there i'm not sure why but its really frustrating.

For actual stain removal I find the NAF tea tree shampoo and a scrub with an old fashioned water brush works really well. A 2nd wash with a whitening shampoo will give that blue white look but I don't find them particularly good for removing stains in the first place.

Johnsons Baby Shampoo - the blue one. Works really well and I have tried all sorts! Completely agree with Jane Lou that sometimes it's easier to use a generic, cheapy shampoo to lift mud etc. and then a whitening shampoo afterwards (especially as they tend to be expensive!). The blue Johnsons shampoo seems to be good at both though; it's definitely my 'go to' when I've only got time for one wash.

I use fairy liquid too. I know people talk about it maybe irritating the skin but it's the only thing that really works well on my ccoloured. It doesn't irritate my skin? Anyone know how it irritates theirs? Genuinely curious :)

I use matrix so silver: big bottle, so not cheap buy it last aaaaages. I use it on show cows too. That's for a finishing touch. Grandfather used to use reckits (sp?) blue in a bucket on heavies feathers so it's a modern version!

If you are getting product irritation you can always try ketchup. It's quite a good stain neutraliser.

If it's in the tail where it could be sploshed into a bucket without skin contact I have used oxy stain remover. I wouldn't use it all the time mind, but this was a bad stain/ sloppy solid situation. Did the trick.

Using coat shine (/another silicon based product like simoniz etc) will help keep staining to a minimum. If yours if a one bum cheek offender I would definitely slather this on. Don't put it in your saddle or girth area obv.

Fairy washing up liquid on the coat, only use it before some shows (unless i'm competing every week!) and keep on top of stains with baby shampoo once a week. For the tail, I clean with washing up liquid, then dip the end of the tail in a bucket of Vanish ! Avoid the dock, then I put some conditioner on to make it shiny :D
