Today I finally managed to find a way to slow my boy's eating down to a level to keep him happy for several hours with 2kg of hay!

"How?" I hear you cry!

Using Miss_C's tip of stringing two haynets together - into which I have placed my eliminets (therefore quadruple netting :rolleyes: ) but in reality only having to fill one and place in another.

Or do you have a particularly nifty way of doing something you would like to share?
 
Evelyns tip about using Nizeoral shampoo to treat mud fever. Was cheap, simple and with great results.

Advised to use NoBute, when in need of something to help ease my old boy's joints. I think I should now have shares in the company the amount i buy - lol. Gd stuff though.

Oh, and whilst moaning about one thing or another "Get Over It!"

To use potties from the pound shop in place of pole pods for raised trotting poles. Works a treat at a fraction of the cost :D
 
Can't remember the exact terminology but it was on the lines of 'if it's messing about get it FORWARD and then more forward' gave me a good kick up the backside just at the moment I needed it and got me through some difficult times recently.

Using sudocreme as suncream - only use one pot a year and have had no sunburn on Saffy's nose this year.

Teresa_F sent me a great pm all about how to look after our horses feathers - no more mud fever or mites.
 
Have picked many great tips on this forum, soaking hay to help with weight loss is probably my best so thank you whoever helped me with my fattie's diet, its made a huge difference :)
 
Plaiting the pony's mane over the headpiece of his grazing muzzle - thanks to whoever gave me that tip as he hasn't got the muzzle off once since then.
 
Picked up a few just reading.
But am really grateful at the moment to the person who suggested TCP for mare rubbing top of tail.Appears to have worked a treat.NOw looking like a pulled tail rather than the well worn toilet brush it did.

Another is that dressage isn't all that stressful afterall! Ta trendybraincell!
 
I've also had loads of great tips but one that helped me recently was to put a little food in grazing muzzle - Nemo can't get it on quick enough now. He used to run off and refuse to be caught if he got the slightest whiff of it before.
 
Millions of good tips nicked from other peoples posts - a lot of which have been stored for later use!

The best piece of advice, given by a lot of people at the time, was to have a bit of patience with Hugo and give him time to settle in; he would come good. They were SOOOOO right! :D
 
This one quite literally changed my - and my horses - life for the better.

"If horses have loading/travelling issues, try taking the partition out - always give as much space as you can."

After 6 years of a bad loader, a fortune on local 'experts' and this was the problem all along, the poor horse didn't have enough room to balance when travelling, no wonder she hated loading. But now, we are both fully mobile!!!

Baby oil on the legs to stop bot eggs (hers not mine!). Works like a dream! Can't remember who suggested it but thank you...
Oh, and 'Ride him like you stole him' for XC and SJ. Not one me and my non-jumping horse ever use, but a fab saying all the same :D
