Okay, so I'm bored. Don't want to keep playing Forum upsets (and beyond!), nor can I get my head round the contract I should be reading, so, let's talk saddles instead (did I mention I got a new one today? :D:rolleyes:).

Apart from the one I got today :D :D :D, the comfiest saddles I have sat on are:

Friend's Morris and Nolan - so nice, makes me grin :D

and

A saddle on a friend's TB. No idea what it was, but it was absolutely lovely :D. I just sank into it and felt totally part of the horse :D

Over to you lot then :D

Hot choccies with all the trimmings, and Ferro Rocher 'cos I'm in a generous mood :D :D :D

Albion K2 was the comfiest saddle I tried, unfortunately was £££ so ended up getting a Kings Event saddle which is also really lovely.

my treeless -
its only a cheapy libra but my daily changing shape cob and I both love it - its like sitting in an armchair!

Ooh, I had a K2, but it was one of the most uncomfy saddle ever! Only bought it 'cos it fitted Tiggy. Doesn't fit the Dizzy one, so it's being traded in for the new Barnsby :D

I did reply to this first, but my internet crashed :(

I will agree with Binky and say Ideals. Mouse's second hand (but brand new looking) was wayyyy more comfy than Woody and Squizz's brand new (identical) Albions.

Jazz's GFS that I bought earlier this year is also lovely to ride in. The Albions were like planks to sit on, and gave me incredible saddle sores after a couple of hours riding, whereas I could hunt Mouse for 10 hours and not notice!

I bought a used Smith-Worthington forward seat in 1975 from my riding instructor. The saddle was built (according to my saddle guy) in the 1940's or 50's and I rode in it for 35 years until the leather finally got so delicate it began to tear.

I have yet to find another saddle that is anywhere near as comfortable and that fits the range of horses that one did. I still have it, lovingly stored and I've contacted S-W about restoring it - they estimate the cost at about $4000.

Even so, if I had it, I'd do it.

My own new Kent & Masters Cob GP - it's got a lovely comfy seat :)
My friend's 10 year old Ideal (don't know what model) on her ConnemaraX - you sit in it and feel like nothing will shift you!
Jeffries Falcon
Dream Team treeless - a friend has one on her gypsy mare, it's like an armchair :D

My ancient Jeffries Hawk Event! Sadly its gone now, sold with horse as I wanted her to stay comfortable. Now have an Albion K2 and its brill as well, but nothing can touch the Hawk!

Barnsby Xtreeme, jumping and eventing saddles and my German dressage saddle which is so old but was also a bargain, cost £100 on ebay and fits my boy like it was made for him.

heather moffett barrie swain st merryn saddle, fab
heather moffett sbs saddle - luxury
and more recently ideal jessica- really really comfortable

A Barnsby with Flair. The most wonderful thing I have ever sat on. Could go on a four hour hack and didn't start to ache at all. Unfortunately it didn't fit Lil once she got fit so Lil now has an Albion. Nice but not a patch on the Barnsby comfort wise.
