DIY livery? Included would be the use of two huge, rubber matted stables with electricity and water, good haylage at cost, choice of bedding at cost and limited but secure, clean grazing. Unrestricted use of a 24x40 floodlit manege with a superb surface, some jumps parking for a trailer if required, owners on site and other equine company. Horse would be fed and given haylage (probably first thing and/or last thing) and what is a reasonable charge for giving these and maybe bringing in or turning out - the field is quite handy, so not a trek.

It's in the North West, so maybe less than people in the southern counties pay?

It could be short term - if that makes any difference.

Depends where in the north west. In Cumbria and Lancs will be less than the 'footballer's belt' of cheshire. We charge 25 per stable per week which includes haylage but not bedding in large airy stables and use of an outdoor school (40x20 sand and rubber).. we are in Cheshire so in other areas with 'posher' facilities will be more.. In cumbria you'll probably get it for less

Back when I was on DIY, at yard one it was £32.50 a week. Yard two came to £184 a month (so £40 something a week?).

I'd say £25-30 per week per horse + cost of bedding/haylage. But I'm a long way from you so maybe my figure will be out! You potentially could charge a bit more than that as you are really almost offering a part livery service. Do you have access to good hacking as this could also bump up the price.

I run a small diy in Shropshire, with very similiar facilities. I charge £20 per week, haylage at cost (between £5 - £8 per week depending on horse size) with owners providing own bedding/hard feed etc. I feed in the morning for free so that all horses are fed at the same time, and will also put in hay etc for free if it is left ready and ties in with when I am feeding mine. However, as I do this for free I do ask the liveries to reciprocate on the rare occasions I am not on the yard. I charge £1 a day to turn out.
Hope that helps!

I would happily pay £30-£35 per horse per week for the services you describe, and would then be happy to pay a bit extra for bringing in / turning out.

We're in South Wales (so not NW!), and pay £35 p/w for a very similar set-up to yours - we do have an indoor school as well as an outdoor, but no trailer parking & not great hacking. It's a nice little yard, quiet & well kept, so worth every penny to me :)

Thank you, everyone, that's really helpful. I'm out of touch with what everyone is paying but up here in Lancs I think costs will be somewhat lower than further down south.

Sidney, you have the same name as my Welsh B and I think your example is about what I was thinking, pricewise. I bet our hacking is pants by comparison. I've had some absolutely fantastic holidays in Shropshire with my horses. Magical country...
