We took our horsebox in to be tested on Monday, but it failed the test on emissions (i can't believe that was the only thing it failed on). What is the legal limit this has to be before it is allowed to pass?
Its now at a specialist being sorted, but i have no idea as we left the test sheet with the bloke.
Any ideas?

Thanks, Kerry x

What sor of box is it? It depends what size engine and if it is a turbo or not!

To get the emissions lower, change the fuel filter. Change the oil and oil filter, change the air filter. If it has an intercooler fitted remove it and get the special intercooler fluid and give it a thourgh wash out. Remove all the intercooler and turbo pipes and wipe any excess oil and dust/muck out of them. Re assemble and take it for a realy good LONG thrashy drive out ... with no neddies on board... before taking it for its MOT.

I am assuming that a diesel additive for injector pump protection, better economy and lower emissions is being used. Otherwise an injector pump re-build will be required.

Screwing the injectors down till they are hardly working nolonger works to get them through the test because the computer tests the emissions at a certain level of revvs.

I'm hoping the mechanic will sort all of that stuff out for us- we have 18 days to represent it.
Thanks for your help.
