Haven't seen your horse for?? I currently have a lady who has her horse on full livery with me, but I haven't seen her for 5 weeks, no call, no text nothing! I am getting paid weekly (friend drops it off) so that is not an issue, I just think it's a bit odd?! Said horse is obviously missing her attention and is starting to get a bit of a handfull!

I had an operation on my hand last week abd so can't drive. I'm still being taken up to see my horse everyday though. I can't stand not seeing him. Everyone up the yard thinks he's got really grumpy though whereas usually he's a total sweety! They reckon he doesn't understand why I'm there and not handling him. Poor lad!

4 days when I went on holiday - I went up to see her at 4am the day I left (she wasn't impressed) and at 9pm the day we got back (OH not impressed)

Aw its true though they do miss their owners! They thrive on routine and most of them love a cuddle with mum/dad and time spent grooming them etc. This horse is a real working type, it doesn't suit him to be just turned out and brought in every day, he's defo missing individual attention!!

Two weeks when I've been on holiday (and I started getting twitchy then

). Don't understand why people have horses if they don't want to be involved with them

At the moment I'm only getting down there about once or maybe twice a week for an hour at most. But I do get regular updates from the lady who is riding for me. Apart from that it's just when I'm away on holiday

im going to the states with work in a week and wont see my girl (or OH!) for a whole six days! Im DREADING it!!

(Possibily as OH is looking after her!!! Bless him!!)

I don't see him on a Friday as that's my day off...other than that I see him every day (not always do stuff with him tho as I work there so I see him when I'm about).

I'll miss not being able to go up everyday when I get a new job but I'll still be there at weekends and once the evenings are lighter I'm hoping I'll be able to go up more then!!

I've never missed seeing my pony for more than a day. I may go away for a long weekend in the summer but I will miss her like mad and drive my OH potty by talking about her all the time we're away!

Actually, I've just thought. I know someone visits her horse once a year! I have no idea why she has a horse as she obviously doesn't like him very much. I feel very sorry for him as his life is dull and he should have been sold a long time ago in my opinion so that he could have had a nice life with someone who really loved him.

Two weeks, when I have been on holiday and that was hard. I could never, ever go without seeing Bodey for 5 weeks, it would completely do my head in!

Several weeks when i couldn't drive due to an injury and my husband was working away so couldn't take me. I think he did miss the attention. But ususally i go up everyday with the two days off a week when my sharer is riding and mucking out and when i'm on holiday.

A week following surgery in hospital.(on several occasions) I always insist on visiting them on the way home from hospital!

for 4 days as the YO wasnt happy we were leaving (was quite aggresive about it) so as there was 3 of us - 1 not leaving she checked our horses for us (it was the summer).

Absolutely hated it, i was told to leave immediately but they agreed that the horse could stay there so long as all my belongings were removed luckily i had a lorry so everything went in there & stayed @ my nans house until we went to pick him

7 day when on holiday. We don't take 2 weeks at a time as I go stir crazy missing the lad....and also the cat

Only had him 2 months but so far have left him for 1 day on 2 occasions because I've had to go to uni early and stay late and I have a long commute there. We all help each other out at the yard which is really nice as its a small yard and I left a page of instructions! But I really missed him was strange being somewhere else when I was 'meant' to be at the yard, he's a huge part of my life. But normally I'm there at least once a day.
No offence to people who do have their horses on full livery, but it really isn't something I'd want for me and my horse.

I have to go away with work twice a year for a long weekend - i see my guys on the Friday morning, and then get back on monday afternoon. But I usually have to phone my mum at the very least 3 times a day while I am away to make sure they are ok!!! But other than that all my holiday from work I spend at home with my guys.

The youngster I have just brought had virtually been abandoned by his owner - she moved back up to london over a year ago now, and left her neddy down here. In that time he was just ditched out in the field. I think she saw about a couple of times in that time. Then she had the nerve to e-mail me the other day asking how he was saying she missed him in the 3 weeks that I have had him!!!

made me smile, as she wouldn't have seen him in that time even if she hadn't sold him to me!

10 days, I was on honeymoon

I'm a bit anal at organising care for my horse whilst I'm away.
I plan weeks ahead of even booking a holiday and leave detailed lists etc, you know the sort of irritating woman LOL.
I'll only leave her in the care of someone I have 100% trust in and recognise this will cost me!

However I don't telephone the carer while I'm away but I make it clear that she must call vet, farrier, me etc if at all worried about anything.

Luckily she has bags of horsey common sense and patience

Five days last week for my holiday and he was really grumpy with me for the first half hour I think he was trying to tell me off.My daughter looked after him so it wasnt as if he had been abandoned. It was lovely to have a lay in but I missed the routine.

i see my boy everyday,i tragically dont do holidays if i did go away it would only be 1 nite and i see him in the morn then the next day when i get back !!!
