what is the term given to blowing out constantly whilst cantering

Yes this is called high blowing and is supposed to indicate (so I've been told, and as I have a TB who does it all the time I like to believe it

) a well bred horse!

so hard to describe the noise but if you were to do an impression of a horse blowing out when your lips rattle (very difficult to write)

a well bred horse!
lol, you are having a laugh...my lad does this and well bred is not the phrase that springs to mind when you first see him...

It sounds like you are describing high-blowing, it is a sign of enjoyment (in much the same way we would ooooh or arhhh!)
It doesnt make one jot of difference to their breathing dont worry. I think the well bred comes from it being heard mostly from TBs on the gallops

Yes, high-blowing. It's totally harmless.

I had a horse that did it, and my current one does it a little bit when he's really excited.

The vet said noise while exhaling is totally harmless, but noise on inhilation is a problem (eg. RAO)

IS it bad mine does it in walk and canter?.....
Not in trot funnily enough unless he's really REALLY excited(say at a dressage competition *cough)
