I saw a girls horse with what looked like a very very strong bit in its mouth. Had never seen one before, so wondering if any of you knew what it was.

I will try my best to explain

It had two big peices of metal hanging from the cheekpieces, the metal had two slits in near the bottom that had roundings through which attached to the reins. It must be some sort of leverage bit most likely.

Any ideas?

Unless it had a curb i won't be a driving bit....

Any more clues

Where were the roundings?

What did the bits of metal look like ?

Ahh it could be, just trying to google different types of bits. Cant find what it is yet though.

It almost looked like a bitless bridle. But it did deffinately go in the mouth.

No there was no curb chain.

The metal bits either side were litrally a chunk of long metal with two slits in near the bottom for the roundings.

Whats the strong bit Robert Whitaker rides Finbar in? It sound's like that but can't find a picture of it.

Is it a Elevator bit/bridle?

A very strong bit. Peter Charles used one on Corrada the grey mare he won the Derby on 3 times.
