What is this bit?

Looking through some of Wildoat's excellent photos in PG ( http://www.horseandhound.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=526294 ) I saw a horse wearing this bit, out of curiosity can anyone tell me what it is please? I am well out of the loop regarding English bits. It reminds me of a Liverpool, but with extras

Yeh, that's what it looks like to me too. Wonder what the action of the bar that connects the two ends does?

It's a driving bit. The bar at the back is to stop it getting stuck on horse next to or infront's reins- it u have team of 4.

Think it's a carriage Liverpool bit - seems an interesting one to event in!

The oldies are the best eh? We used to use them years ago for the hunters, a vastly underated bit I think (along with the reversible)
