Sorry, it wouldn't let me rotate it!

One of mine have just come back off a 'disaster' loan (to put it mildly!) and i've found two lumps which i'm really worried about. They are both on each hind leg in the inside. Hopefully my picture might help.

Thank you.

ETS - sorry my pic is huge!! Not sure how to re-size!

Theylook a bit high but it's likely that they are spavins. It might not be disastrous, one of mine has them and has never been lame. In general though, you can expect a period of unsoundness but once they are hardened off (can take up to two years) the horse is often perfectly sound again. Youprobably need some xrays if you are insured, to see what is going on inside the joints. Good luck.

I'm not sure what you are on about? Spavins - well, the least troublesome ones - are definite enlargements below any of the obvious contours your horse has. And they are not pointy!

Is your horse lame?

Resized and rotated :p :D

It does look like bone spavin, but I thought that tended to occur on one side and then the other, rather than both at the same time? Is it possible to see a picture of both legs? Perhaps one taken from under her belly facing her tail, and the other from behind?

Not sure what lump you are referring to?
Bone spavins, because they are bony growths of the hock bones, can be pretty much anywhere - the classic spavin being visible if you look through the horse's front legs, to the hinds, as lumps on the inside. You can get bone growth between the hock bones - invisible, but bad news, too.
Your horse does appear to have a fair few fluidy bits, and bumps - but I wouldn't worry unless he's lame or unlevel. The only real way to find out what's going on, would be getting your vet to examine, then run tests - very expensive.
Hope he's ok.
S :D
