Ok so the yard owner has been given this in the pic below.

what the heck is it??

We spent ages trying to work out what it was, its too big in size for a neck cover, and if you do the clips up it WAY too small to get a neck through.
Theres also to velcro openable bit in the middle, and about a foot long zip from the edge in the middle.

Is it def meant to go on a horse? Could it be a hay bale bag or a wheelbarrow cover? The elastic slots could be for tools, i've seen them before?

It looks like a seat cover for the rear of your car.the elastic loops go over the front headrest and the rear headrests, its mainly for dogs. Argos sell them

You might be right!! it might be for the car! someone gave it with a load of horse stuff! so maybe its not something horsey!

Yea it is, the velcro bits r for the seatbelt clips to go through so u can still use in conjunction with a dog saftey harness, don't know what the zip is for, i presume so you can get to them easier from the front seats.

Its either a boot cover for the car or a back seat cover - I have got one exactly the same but don't use it any more but got it from Halfords.

It is for your car, I have one! It sits on the back seat and makes a sort of hammock type thing using the clips to attach it to the headrests. The velcro is to put the seatbelt through and the zip is so if you only have a 3dr you can unclip one side from the front headrests and unzip for the dog to get in and out!
