I can't tell you what it is but my mare once had it under her chin on her bottom lip and I just cleaned and covered it with green oils ointment I think and it did heal. She had it in July and touchwood has never had it since. It looks like it could do to dry up a bit so it can get a scab on it, sorry hope thats not too much detail for you lol!! Nurse here also so not much bothers me xxx

im not the quessy type so im good it seams to be drying up now but seams to be reacurring problem drives me up the wall as i carnt ride :s and when do ride hm he come back feeling very full off his self

Well my little miniature had something very similar last year, he had a small graze that just grew and grew and grew. We tried hibi scrub, antiseptic shampoos, oral antibiotics and even manuka honey....nothing worked and this went of for two weeks.
Vet eventually took swabs and then sent them away to grow on petri dishes........turns out it was a particular bacteria that would not be killed by anything other than a specific antibiotic which turned out to be mammary suspension (prescription) for cows that have mastitus. Started healing within 48 hours, it just goes to show you have to have the right antibiotic to fix it.
