Yes ,I think its Knot grass http://www.lawnweeds.co.uk/knotgrass.html Bob the not a cob eats it selectively from the lawn outside his stable.Perhaps he is just into gardening though.

Thanks for identifying this plant, my horse has been eating it this year, whereas last year she totally ignored it.

She's also recently been diagnosed with 'arthritic changes' - funny how they seem to know what to eat
