My horse had a splint develop on her inside near foreleg. Noticed it about 2 and half weeks ago. Looks a lot like that. No heat or lameness, not sore to touch at all. Its quite hard though so really not sure how long it was developing for. Apparently massaging it can help minimize the swelling and therefore the size of it. I coldhosed too but if there is no discomfort then not much else you can do with it I dont think. I keep hoping my horse's one gets smaller as it is quite unsightly at the mo

I ve never come cross a splint on the hindlegs. Has anyone else?
I think they must be rare.

yes one of mine has one, they are less common but I dont think they are that rare either.

FWIW the mare that had one did have an accident and scared back legs due to it so I suspect that is when she got hers.

Now, I thought that was line firing. I know what pin firing is, just not seen it on the cannons before.
