Pony has a funny little bump (feels like a windgall but in the wrong place, spongy and about an inch long and a little less than half an inch sticking out) on the back of one of his hind legs. It's on his tendon about four inches above the fetlock, but the wierd thing is that it's only visible (and feel-able) when he rests that leg right out behind him. He's an ex racer and has a lot of lumps and bumps, but because this is only noticeable when his leg is in a certain position, I don't know if he came with it or I did it to him! That pastern is sometimes slightly puffy in the mornings after he's been standing all night, but there's no heat/sensitivity and he seems sound! Any ideas as to what it is? I'm not overly worried, more curious...

I'm just being paranoid I hope, have had a lot of bad luck with my horses in the last couple of years :(

Sorry I didn't read your first post properly, you said windgall in the first line, doh! I'm not too sure, I know you can get them on fetlock or tendon, can you get a photo of it? If he's sound and there's no heat etc I wouldn't be too worried about it, just keep an eye on it.
