it looks like poss a splint but you dont say if lame or any heat or what it feels like , if a splint then bone radial is brill you just brush it on and it will help to reduce but you may need to rest reduce work load until it settles too if newly formed

there is no heat and its hard/ solid to the touch, so I think been there a while he has just come back to me after 3 years
