Just to throw the question out here, do travel times vary if horse is in a lorry or trailer?
What is too far for a horse to travel?

We lived in the States years ago when my kids were growing up, and the horses at their barn travelled from Massachusetts to Florida and Kentucky by road on occasion (22 hours and 15 hours respectively), and attended "local" shows that were only 2-3 hours away on a regular basis.
The horses weren't all necessarily seasoned travellers either, but they were all fine with regular stops if necessary, for water and a check over.
So basically, what others have said!

My mare went to her new home in Australia and travelled well, previous longest trip was 2 1/2 hours in a trailer.
