Warmblood fragile foal syndrome. Recessive genetic disorder that usually ends up with foals needing to be put down after a few days (problems with connective tissue/skin), if they weren't aborted or stillborn. Mostly found in WBs, though I think there were some carrier TBs that have passed it on to TB and AQH bloodlines.

It's a recessive genetic condition so fatal if the foal inherits a copy of the allele from each parent.
It's in lots of different breeds, but highest prevalence is in warmbloods

I follow Groomsbridge stud on fb and saw their stallions are all tested and clear. Is it a new thing for people to test?

It's not that new as it was one of the results shown on the test sheet when I had mine tested for something else (DMRT3) five years ago

In the grand scheme of life it’s pretty new to be routinely testing and publishing results - maybe last 5/6/7 years for the bigger European operations. TBs have only just started routinely it would seem.
