Hehe! I wish I could get two! I used to absoloutly love jumping / xc ..it was 'my thing.'

Darcy just finds it all a bit brain popping at the moment though. I've spent a year and a few months on only flatwork, hacking etc and having taken him to camp and done a bit of jumping - although he did me proud , I'm still really at square one and finding myself itching to jump a sane horse!!

So, I'm fighting the need to find another on loan to give me some fun

You have what I have - it's incurable and terminal and congenital. Not hereditary, but can be passed from parent to child.

It has a well known complication, the short term remedy for which is found in all good saddlery shops...

I have a three year old that can't go a week without seeing the vet and five year that has just decided to follow suit - Both free to any mug. It's got to the point were my smug livery with horses that see the vet once a year for jabs (Lifes just not fair) said to me yesterday 'when you get the vet up this week..'

Don't do it....walk away from the pretty horses!

Forget me not I hear you......My 16 year old ex racer lives in Cyprus on loan, in 7 years our only acquintance with the vet is once a year for jabs.....

Moved to Holland bought a WB/Appaloosa as a 3 year old and he has made it his mission in life to make the vet his best friend! at the moment he is being treated by not one but two vets the normal equine vet and the holistic one who does accupuncture.

Yes I go to tack shops but it is to buy Green Clay, gauze and vet wrap (god knows why he just rips it off and shreds it!) before his latest escapade I had just laid out 900 euros on a brand new saddle.....it is now sitting in my spare room along wth the very nice new Anky Bridle I had bought for him. No doubt by the time we can ride him again (October) I will have to get the saddle fitter out again to re flock!

I love him really honest!
