And where do they sleep?

Ours get walked for about 40 mins in the eve at about 6pm then tea, chill out with us in the living room all evening then they get let out for last wee/poo about 11ish, have a biscuit and I put them to bed in the kitchen. I have been known to tuck our eldest bitch into bed with her fleece blanket, HA! How pathetic am I!! (anyone else do this)!?

I am worse. When the dogs decide its time for bed they normally start to make a strategic route to my bed. If I have been evil and shut the door they hang around looking mournful till i go up....!

OK . . . shoot me now . . . both our dogs sleep either with me or with one of my daughters . . . and one of them sleeps under the covers . . .

They get a mini walk before it gets too dark (I'm a wuss), dinner and a run round the garden, they settle down with us throughout the evening and then they figure out where they want to sleep . . . sometimes I sleep on the sofa so they sleep downstairs with me, if I sleep upstairs then Dinky sleeps with me and Fred sleeps with Em . . . yes, they are very, very spoiled.

P

My little monkey has her walk about 4 or 5 ish, then tea, then lounges around wherever a human is to lie against :)
Has a mad moment half way through evening with squeaky toys etc, then out for a wee and sneaks up onto my bed :)

Ready for bed mum

My boys hang around me til I decide it's bed time. I just say the words "bed time" and the two of them BOLT for the bed to see who can get the comfy bit first.

my springer spaniel knows when emmerdale has finished (7.30pm) it time to go and check the horses after that is done he chills in the front room till around ten then takes himself to bed =) well trained haha dad comes home from work about half 11 he gets let out then he makes a sharp dash to the couch where he trys to hide =)

My spaniel used to take herself to bed about 10.30 - the level of sighs that would come from her if you dared be up past that time were very funny :p

They would increase in volume by degrees (staring at you from her bed) then she'd give a HUGE huff and turn her back on you if you stayed up. Woe betide anyone coming in late from the pub either...she wouldn't be happy! :D

Such a character, I miss her little quirks dreadfully :)

30 min walk with squeaky toy at about 5pm, food with tripe stick as afters, 20 minutes or so of mucking about with his toys/my slippers , then back to sleep on the sofa till 11pm for final wees!

And yes, he sleeps on my bed, under his own duvet. He sleeps curled up against the back of my knees, for a skinny mongrel he is surprisingly warm for which I am grateful!

They spend the evening with us in the lounge. they have a toybox with all their stuff in. Let out in the garden for a last wee then up to bed (yes, Im afraid all 3 sleep with us, we do have a huge bed, it harks back to before I met OH and liked the security of having them with me) In the summer they get their last walk just before dusk when its cooler and the door to the back garden is left open all evening so they can wander in and out. In winter the last walk is late afternoon and they sepnd most of the evening indoors although if they think they can smell a squirrel they ask to go out and chase it. As I type I have 2 springers asleep on the sofa with me:)

I take mine out for at least 30 minutes when I get home, give them dinner and then veg in from of the tv, or if I'm feeling really conciencious I'll do a bit if work! When it's time I say 'time for bed' both go our for 'wee wees' then straight up to my room, Suzy sleeps next to the bed, and if I'm honest more often then not Millie sleeps with me (& gypsy the cat) just after I turn the lights off Suzy gets up, goes into the spare room, then goes down stairs I hear her go into the lounge, into the utility room and kitchen, before coming back upstairs and getting into bed and going to sleep, no idea why she does the 'patrol' have always worried she is frightened by something but she's normally very relaxed while she's doing it.

Hmm, well mine is walked about 3:30ish in the afternoon ( 1 of 3 walks). This will get later as the evenings get lighter. She has her dinner at about 6pm and then chills out most of the rest of the evening (may have a mad 20 mins with some toys if she's not too shattered) until I pop her out in the garden for a last wee before bed. She has a small handful of biscuits after her wee too. Then I am evidently just mean because she is shut in the kitchen over night!

Seems I am one of few who doesn't allow the dog to sleep on their bed!!! She doesn't even get access to the living room overnight as yet - eventually she will when I can rely on her not to have any accidents or get on the sofa!

Mine only get fed in the morning; they get walked around 4pm for 20 minutes ( they help me poo pick in the morning :) ) sit and play and watch tv, I usually leave them downstairs when I go up to bed, but they tend to come up not long after!

I have a large cat flap ( they are only little dogs ) so they can get out into the yard any time

Walks over by about 6pm. Dinner 6.30ish. Then make the starved face whilst we eat at 7.30 ish. Then play, snoozing on the sofa. I go to bed at about 10.30, OH at about 12, he lets Dex out before he comes to bed. Dex used to sleep on the sofa but more often than not now he has jumped the stair gate and is in our BED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Walkies at 7-8pm depending on what time I get home (to beach for training and a run on the sand, sometimes he gets training and a run and road work. This can be anything from 30-90 minutes depending on how much I can be arsed :p
Back home, Kong time, chill with some telly and then in his crate 11-11.30pm and he sleeps right through to 7.30pm.

Bear sometimes has a snooze at about 5-ish, for anything up to an hour. Most afternoon walks are 6-8kms (energetic OH!:D), so the wee man 'needs' his down time........:D

Dinner at 7.30, followed approx. half an hour later by another walk, anything up to half an hour this time, depending on weather and daylight. He gets a biccy at bedtime, and is tucked up in his bed (big plastic dog bed, lined with two old blankets and an old sleeping bag) at about 11. He will bed hop, though. Our room is on the ground floor, and as we keep the doors open to keep the heat circulating, Bear regularly joins us under the duvet. That is, until, he gets too hot, and the bed hopping starts all over again!

Can't decide who's the biggest fidget - OH or 'His:mad:' dog!! :D

When my marriage went down the pan, I used have the dog sleep in my bed - but then duvet got horribly hairy, so had him on a sheepskin on the floor. Then I realised it was making bedroom smell a bit rank, so now, to his sadness, he's back downstairs in the hall. Which probably also smells doggy, but don't notice it down there.

The gang are with me when I do the horses so are running around the yard and fields. Proper walk in the woods about 4pm for about 3/4hr then we finish the yard and home. Again depending what we are doing and what day it is they get their dinner about 6.30pm

Sleep and play then out to the garden for a run around and to do what they need to do. When I turn the TV off and mention bed they are off to the kennels and their beds. They never seem to want to stay in the house at night. Even my old boy has his coat on and goes to bed in the kennels, he too does not want to stay in the house.

Last walk is at tea time. I did try taking Elsie out last thing but she doesn't like the dark and wouldn't do anything when out. Bed is whenever we decide, but she sleeps most of the evening in the living room at my feet. I take her for a wee in the garden before we go to bed, then she settles on the floor in our bedroom. The door is open and her bed is at the bottom of the stairs, but she preferrs to be near us.

Depends if the man is away they are with me :) If I am on nights I tend to bring Teal up with me as Dylan is a fidget and hogs the duvet!!! Man normally takes Dylan and Buster to work if I am on nights.

Otherwise they are with us until we decide, then its "wee wees" and then once pee'd they go on their bed and get a bisuit/ chicken wing and lights out. Dylan and Teal tend to share the basket or crate (depends whats in the room) and Buster has his own cushion. I love em. I arranged for someone to turn out horse on Sunday and we didnt get up till 11am and the dogs hadnt made a noise. When I leave at 0550 they dont even get off their beds, Dylan doesnt even lift his head lol.

Betsy and Bear really are a match made in heaven!

If im doing late checks she comes to the stables with me and hoons about - ON the longline (our recall does not extend to avoiding mice/bunnies/pheasant/fox in the dark:rolleyes:) she tends to eat her body weight in horse poop on these trips. If she doesnt go there she has a little walk. She will then chillax infront of the telly with us for a couple of hours.

When she wants to go to bed she will stand infront of you / on you (if she can) and sigh....repeatedly. As soon as you then move to get up she runs to the back door to do her wees and hoons straight back in and up the stairs to nick the best spot on the bed:rolleyes:

She has free run of the house overnight now and tends to start the night off with us:o untill she is too hot then the bed hopping begins. She is blo*dy noisy with her restless hopping for such a tiny dog.

As soon as she hears my alarm on a morning she bounces up on the bed with a waggy tail... I thought it was loving and cute until OH pointed out that she sleeps in the warm patch I leave as soon as I'm out the bed.

Last of 3 walks of the day after work about 5.30 then tea. Usually playing with toys for half an hour or so till about 7. Henry then plonks on the sofa and sleeps unless I am riding so he comes to yard. About 10 he starts to get restless for last wee and bed. Sleeps in crate in dining room through till 7. He is not an early bird. If I have to get up at 6 he will get up for a wee and go back to bed on disgust. Likes his sleep!

Our springer usually goes behind the chair or in her bed when she's ready, she sleeps downsstairs in the living room, she's taken out about 7.30pm has her food when we get back, maybe have a play she likes her toys or has a chomp on a chewy

Ours is let out for a wee before we all head off to bed. And then is usually first in bed when we go up.

She sleeps with us, and yes under the covers.

Brilliant! :D

Those of you that let your dogs sleep on/in bed with you, are they little in size? I can only do this when my husband is away due to having 3 labs, when they're all crammed onto the bed I get shoved over, practically hanging off the side whilst they all bask upside down, legs splayed everywhere!

Thankfully that match is pure fantasy! The thought of baby Betsys/Bears is frightening enough, but since Bear's lost his dangly bits, it ain't gonna happen! ;):D

And hopping on the bed when she hears your alarm is simply an ulterior motive to get you out to nab your warm patch!

And they say it's a dog's life ...........:confused::confused::D

Well, a Border Terrier is a relatively small dog. However, do not let that fool you! A BT believes it is as big and as brave and as fearsome as the next dog.......:D

Sometimes that aslo translates into how a BT regards its sleeping arrangements..........it's no so comfy trying to arrange yourself around an immovable hairy lump, which sighs that could put windows out, and occasionally dishes out death stares if you so much as even contemplate breathing ...........:D

Gaaaaahhhhhhh..............*yawns*

I couldnt have the Doberman on the bed, it's bad enough on the old sofa (which is where he sleeps). Hes all elbows and bones and giant muddy paws! The Border terrier sleeps with him on the sofa for about a hour but shes a bit wee-ey leaky and so after a while she widdles off to her dog crate and leaves him with a little wet patch next to his face all night....

here is said stinky sofa (we cant get rid of it as Doberman chews loose cushions and this ancient sofa has all the cushions stitched in, so he cant hurl bits of foam around!)
