3 day carriage driving is my main disiplin, but also abit of 1 day evenst, SJ and dressage. Nothing beats a driving 3DE.

Its like a normal 3DE. Dressage on day 1, only walk and trot but even prenovice has collection extension and rein back. Day 2 is marathon, normaly about 20Km with 8 obstacles at the end. The marathon is optimum time, but the obstacle are against the clock. They are lettered gets A-F and you can not go through them backwards or fowards until you have been through it the correct way in the correct order. These are normaly done at a collected canter/fast trot with a gollop the the finish. Then cones on the last day. They are 15cm wider than the carriage and you have to do it at a fast trot, not knoking any down. This is optimum time as well. You drive either a single, pair, tandem or team of ponies or horses.

Oh bugger i really didnt think this through paroperly did i?

I'm a bit surprised how popular dressage is. I just don't get it - I do it because its good for us but it always seems like a lot of hard work and not much fun. Most of the people I know are jumpers too - maybe I'm just mixing with a bad crowd!
