Just sat here pondering what everyone else does for their horses in work? What does your week plan look like?
Mine is 2x lunge (defo after day off as wild child - think toddler on skittles) 2x school, 2x hack, 1 day off.
This is mixed up throughout the week and now the lighter evenings will mean more hacking.

Winter average is:

4 x lunge (varying flat and pole work) or walker when wet.
1 x hack
1 x all weather gallop
1 x day off

Spring/Autumn:

Same but more schooling instead of lunging/walker

Summer:

1 day off
As many days hacking/gallop as possible ?
The odd day schooling

My week plan is "do i feel like riding? Yes/No/Maybe"

This :)

Although I loosely work on three days on, one day off for fitness at the moment as i read somewhere its more beneficial to the horse but generally its just as and when i feel like riding, i ride (hack) and if i am not feeling the road that day i do some poles either ridden or on the lunge in the field. I'll jazz this up with a jump when the horse isnt so wonky and weak!

Mine doesn't need much schooling on the flat, but he does have a dicky back so he gets a quick lunge to warm up before I get on
Then hes likely to do
2 x hacking
1 x cantering
1 x jump
1 x poles / cavaletti
1 x flatwork
1 x day off

Same but I try to add in one pole session a week. The sessions are with friends and involve the normal 15 to 20 mins warm up in walk first (he's a big lad) then frequent breaks to chat.

His sharer has him two days a week and that's usually one hack and one school session.

The weather wasn't good last Saturday and I didn't really want to ride so my friend and I agreed to a walk up and down the gallops, pat ourselves on the back and call it a day. We had to do a few laps of the doughnut at the bottom of the gallops, waiting for someone doing the same as us. This meant both horses were warmed up so we decided to trot a bit of the uphill section. Ponies got a bit competitive and we had a nice, steady little canter up the hill.

Horses had winter off and just started fittening work a couple of weeks ago. 2 x hacking (roads or fields), 1 flatwork session, 1 polework and 1 lesson (dressage now and alternate with jumping when fitter). Not always long sessions though, i am happy with 20 mins good work, especially when I am feeling Meh!

I work in 10 day blocks rather than weeks. For me it is 10 days working then 1 day off, if I am really pushed I ride 1 and lead the others, which mine are fine to do in all paces except for gallop, but it is very rare that they are not ridden individually. Riding is early in the morning, and then in the afternoon I like them to have some sort of gentle movement, either lunging, loose schooling or hacking. If I am hacking I usually go for 1.5 to 2 hours, 1 ridden and 2 in hand and switch around between which I am riding. I like them to be fit, and I like that they can have ad lib hay because they are burning calories, but it does take quite a big effort.

I try and do 1x lunge, 1/2x hack, 1/2x school/polework and 1x jumping and 1/2x days off. Once competitions start up again I’m hoping to be out at least 2 weekends a month so that will factor into the week...

At the moment work can be mental, so I can’t always fit a ride in afterwards, currently averaging 4-5 days a week. When calving/lambing is over and things settle down a bit more I’ll be trying to ride 5-6 times a week and have at least 2 days hacking!

Currently rethinking it - she’s still fairly new so we’re working out what suits her. But for now, it’s hack x2, flat school x2, 1x little jump school, 1x schooling round a course/bigger jumps, then one day off a week. Previous horse hacked x3, schooled x3, one day off, jumped maybe once a fortnight instead of schooling.
In all honestly my personal preference is to school most of the week, then hack and jump once, but that’s not what suits the horses so there we go.

The onegoing out at 80/100 eventing are hacking 3x a week (hillwork, beach and general) and schooling 1x a week and in hand Polework once a week. Next week we get back to normal so will jump again. Just waiting for an arena to go in/grass to dry out then schooling will go up so will be on 6 days a week work.

The Shetland is having work increased and goes out with the big horses 2x hacking on a long line, does Polework once a week and fast work behind the quad bike. She isn’t ridden as we are far too big but I am paranoid about her being fat and just because she is little doesn’t mean she can’t do some work.

For someone who keeps pony on a farm and has no facilities, then it could look like hacking 5 or 6 times a week! But, there is a system of sorts. I am trying to get main pony fit for a long distance ride (100 miles long) late summer, so over 1 week, one hack is all about fast hill work, one ride will be steady road trot, one ride and lead with second pony about mid week, one session of schooling (so not concentrating on fitness) and one or two long but steady rides over the weekend, riding out with sharer on second pony.
I don't lunge, but think it should be one of those skills I should learn, a long with my pony!
