What items of hi vis do you and your horse wear hacking?

Orange long sleeve fluorescent top on me and martingale thing on horse. Fluorescent fleece quarter sheet in winter as well.

Either high viz vest of jacket weather dependant.
Horse sometimes has high viz mesh sheet or a waterproof high viz depending on weather as well.

Essential is a tabard and hat band for me, stirrup reflectors, leg bands and a band on her bridle for my pony.

In poor visibility/winter, I always use a quarter sheet and neck band.

We always have a combination of colours to be most visible (usually pink and orange).

Hi viz jacket and hatband on me. Hi viz neck strap and leg wraps on the horse. I've also got reflective hi viz things which clip on to their tails but don't always use them. I mix colours too even though I'd rather stick to one colour but mixed stands out more.

I have a gilet/tabard and hat band as minimum. One horse wears boots, and these are high vis behind. If the weather is poor, I add flashing arm/leg bands and in very low light a neck band/leg bands for horse and a light on my hat and stirrup as well as upgrading to a full on reflective jacket. I have very quiet Cornish lanes though, and in poor light would stick to the ones where they are so narrow and winding that cars CAN'T go more than about 10-20 mph so I generally hear/see them well in advance.

Micropony wears a yellow sheet, orange ears and orange leg bands. I wear a yellow hat band and pink tabard. We look very conspicuous. As someone said as we left the yard one day "bloody hell, if the cars can't see you done up like that, they shouldn't be on the road!"

Hi viz tabard, long sleeved fleec/ jacket depending on time of year and weather. Hi viz hat band.

Horse doesnt wear anything most of the time although in winter they wear hi viz quarter sheets.

Last nights comment from the neighbours livery ... 'How can you miss me, Im on a bright chestnut' ..... I just called her a div and drove off!

I've got a similar size cob and cant get any of the leg bands to fit round his legs when hes got feather so make sure if you buy some you can return them if they dont fit

Summer - yellow hi-vis waistcoat, orange hat band, and yellow hi-vis leg wraps for horse - we've lost one so now he wears one on his near fore and the other on his off hind.
Winter - orange hi-vis coat, orange hat band, hi-vis leg wraps as before but with the addition of flashing bands on top (designed for cyclists and bought from Aldi), yellow quarter sheet if weather demands.

Hi vis & reflective boots all round, all year round - I wear a tabard or waistcoat depending on the weather. usually throw on a neck strap as well. In the autumn/winter the ridden horse has a hi vis exercise sheet and the led horse has a walker rug with loads of reflective tape sewn on :) can't miss us!

I have to ride on a busy country road which scares the bejesus out of me. Luckily the horses are fine!

So I wear a hi viz hat cover and waistcoat / tabard which says on front and back in big letters Please pass wide and slow. Also have a snazzy multicoloured hi viz streamer for my whip to catch motorists' attention. Also put a camera on my hat. If its raining the horses wear bright orange hi viz exercise sheets.

Because I'm a bit OCD about this I had a big yellow/black sign made (on ebay) which has a silhouette of a horse and rider in a triangle with 'Caution Horses on Road' underneath. Its attached to a stable hook and when I go out hacking I fit it over my fence at the bottom of the driveway so at least some drivers might know I'm on the road ahead.

Vest/jacket for me depending on weather with a contrasting pink/purple spotted hat cover (not hi viz but very bright!) I want some hi viz gloves but I've not found any that aren't very thick.
My little mare has a hi viz sheet but I've seen a new one with built in flashing lights that wraps around the front. Hi viz boots and ear covers. Mostly yellow and pink.

On the back of this - I wondered what sort of replies you gals get from people against Hi Viz.

I get these replies from others:

I hate it
Looks stupid
I am NOT wearing it
Makes no difference
Degrading.

So what comments do people say to you?

I have a tabard or gillet, both are yellow and worn with a contrasting pink top. Hi viz breeches, yellow hat band with reflectors or waterproof cover depending on weather, stirrup reflectors and exercise sheet on the horse, summer one is yellow and orange, winter is yellow. I have been told I can be seen from the main road through trees dressed like this, which is about half a mile away. I am also investing in lights for the autumn and winter.
I need to replace my winter exercise sheet and was wondering if any one has one of the Gizpaw ones? It's between this and V-Bandz orange and yellow water proof one.

I have a hat band and Tabard on me and horse wears hi viz neck band, leg wraps on all 4 legs and a tail band. In the winter I add a hi viz sheet to that too. I have all Yellow at the moment but am going to change soon to mix the colours up so we are even more visible x

We have many around here that just wear a tabbard and I find when the riders come towards you down these lanes, a lot of the tabbard is hidden by the horses head. I always wear leg wraps or boots on the horse including the martingale.

Quiet roads with plenty of verge to move out of the way of traffic but always wear full hi viz jacket in either yellow or pink depending on time of year and will use fluorescent boots and sheet in low light. A driver once said to me the boots are the best as driver height.

I always wear a hi-viz tabard/waistcoat/coat depending upon the weather. I ride early mornings therefore in winter I also ride in a hi-viz exercise sheet and martingale. When it's a bit foggy I will also wear a couple of hi viz flashing lights. If it's very foggy I avoid riding on the road.
