What jobs can you do with an NVQ level 3 in horse care?

Just wondering - my friend's daughter is keen on doing this after her GCSEs. I've never known anyone who's in horses to recommend it as a career, so: what can you do with this in horses and would it help with any jobs outside them? Degree level afterwards is unlikely to be an option.

I did this.....I work in administration now!

I would say that the BHS exams (although considered a little antiquated by some) are much more recognised and respected by employers.

It's a great course, but every horsey employer I've met doesn't seem to hold it in much regard. Depends really what she wants to do afterwards??

I did my NVQ 2 & actually found it more beneficial over the BHS exams as it's recognised by equine employers, but also by employers outside the industry ... as it's the equivalent to 3 A Levels .

My daughter did NVQs to level 3 and is now training to be a vet nurse and loving it. Her friend did the same and went to work for Mary King and has just moved on after 4 seasons. I believe another student went to work at Tim Stockdale's yard.
