What jobs do we all have?

I was a full time student but graduated today and am about to emabark on training to become a drug dealer!

I'm actually a Pre-Registration Pharmacist, starting next week. Basically working full time (9-6 :() for the next year, before sitting my professional exams to become a member of the society.

I have worked as a groom on a private competition/small livery (full) yard for the past two and a half years to fund my equine habit and absolutely loved it. Even in the depths of Winter. If it would pay me £40k a year then I'd be happy but sadly that kind of work doesn't so proper job it is and keep the horses as a hobby. My ideal is to be able to cut my hours down to a couple of days a week locuming to pay the bills and then work with horses a couple of days a week.

Congrats on your Graduation today :)

I write the bits of paper/cartons for the aspirin. paracetamol and ibuprofen (to name some) you get from supermarkets..... so another drug dealer.... sort of!

How did you get into doing that? Reckon I'll get bored of Community Pharmacy in the long term so am keeping my ears open for alternatives

I run my own mail order business from premises just up the road - have staff, and am just launching own small business consultancy advising people on setting up new businesses, which is actually far far more interesting.

but managing a business is a whole lot of nothing to know about.... so your experience is in the pub/restaurant trade, but the fundamentals are the same in any business!

I'm not sure I could do it though, and it would be a big leap of faith for me to move into another industry I think.

ETA... on reading that it came out all wrong... what I meant is that managing a business is an awful lot of stuff that you seem to be dismissing as not a lot of knowledge

I get what you mean !!!!! lol - yeah i spose I could adapt to something else - for my sins would love to work with animals although doesnt pay

I'm a therapy radiographer, I treat cancer patients using high energy xrays. It's a really interesting job and as I see the same patients everyday I get to know them well, although it's seen as a bit of a gloomy job it's actually very rewarding when you see the patient when they come back and get the all clear :) and you know you helped

paramedic. working nights and weekends suck! But it's good money for working 4 days on and 5 days off.

I woudn't work with horses as I think it would take away the pleasure of owning my own horse. She is the nice thing at the end of a long day and makes me smile!

Am looking for career options. If you have any good ideas, let me know :)

i work at my local pub, its always split shifts so have a lot of time on my hands! also work from home for my dad, help out with all his paperwork and one small business that he owns. money isnt fantastic but i manage! previous to this i was an estate agent and i hardly had time to brush my hair! i prefer less money and more time on my hands to be honest!

Equine pharmacy manager and lay nurse for an equine vet practice, I got into it from small animal receptionist and lay nurse. Just about to start out on my new job and leave my old one on tuesday. I've loved small animal as it's slightly different from doing the horses and do worry equine will wreck my hobby.

It's amazing the amout of abuse you get on veterinary reception from clients!!

I'm a reporter on a local newspaper, pay is awful, hours are ok as I mainly cover courts and finish when they finish. Really wish I'd chosen a different career path *sigh*

I'm a Police Sergeant.
Working with horses doesn't bring in enough money so I would prefer to put up with my job and have enough money to enjoy my horses as a hobby :-)

Assistant Stud Groom for the last 6 yrs, breeding and raising TB's for Tattersalls yearling sales and for racing.
I like to think of it as a equine midwife, pimp and teacher :D
Prior to that, I was a livery yard manager, and then a team leader at Redwings.
Finding time for my own horse is challenging at times!

I am a single parent so when not doing mummy stuff I run the family yard and work there 7 days a week but on short days I teach English to foreigners, do interior design projects for property developers, some bookkeeping, and treasury work for our local hunt, and some cooking for local pub when they have theme nights. I'm generally knackered and wouldn't be spending so much time at the yard if I didn't have to, but I am on a very low income an am trying to put my daughter through prep school. God I need a rich man!

im a stay at home mum, Ive dib dabbed in a few professions was a catering assistant for 3 yrs, worked for elvi (clothes) and loved working at body shop unfortunately had to quit after severe headaches smell was to much for my noggin! also did Office cleaning while i was a catering assistant :D

Retail, it sucks, pays bad (in relation to where I work, Oxford Circus, London), and you get looked down on alot of the time (makes me smile when they do it to my sis who works with me, as she's studying medicine and has just finished in the top 7% of her class this year - of 400 people might I add -if only they knew...)

However I am a student currently, and live at home when i'm not at Uni, and it pays more than the yard job I was offered, which I would have taken but travel alone would be most of my weekly wage, and i'm saving this summer for horses and cars and all sorts of wonderful things...

After Uni and my probably pointless degree (Equine studies) other than use of really good facilities and relatively cheap livery, I hope to work for one of the TB retraining charities, or a welfare organisation. Working for the Thoroughbred rehabilitation Centre, or Darley rehoming is the dream though. However i'll dip my toe in any equine waters after I finish :-)

I'm a retired headteacher & OFSTED inspector. When I worked full time I never used to ride from October to April as it was always dark when I got home from work & always seemed to be cold & wet, also I always seemed to be shattered & in a bad mood at the thought of the work I had brought home with me! Now I have plenty of time & lots more patience as I'm not always clock watching so there's no rush to get things done. I can enjoy rides out, competing & training on week days & wait for the rain to stop before venturing out. A lot less money of course but we have enough.

I have a road side buttie van, b**** cold this winter had hot water bottle on feet, not literally, under my boots lol so have naturally had to do lots of tasting of new cakes and chocolate, need to check quality before selling, and all my clothes have shrunk in the wash!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Do 6 days a week and finish mid afternoon. Do miss my week ends off,but in winter great as can do ponies in the light and chill in front of fire in evenings, with a bottle of wine. Medicinal need .........................not!

I'm a physiotherapist full time for the NHS, then some private work evenings and weekends to make sure that dogs, cats and horses have food and goodies :)

Love the job but it has made me question a lot, how my horse is going, what my position is doing, when I fall off what have I hurt this time... the thoughts go on on ;)
