What jobs do we all have?

I'm a nurse working in a crazy busy A and E department in West Wales (pretty much all our trauma admissions are country types - combine harvester accident, trampled by cows, fell off barn roof and of course the horse accidents!). I was really doubting my job for a while, as I moved down here (horse in tow!) from Newcastle to work in Burns Intensive Care (which was my dream job, love burns), but found it was a **** department with a mean boss etc etc and thought about doing something totally different and giving up nursing.
But applied for my current job on a whim, and got it, and it has turned out to be perfect. I prefer the pace to intensive care, I love seeing the best and worst of the human body and mind, and being with patients who may be going through the worst time in their life. I work with some really interesting people (all totally bonkers) with that kind of gallows sense of humour you get when you spend all day splattered with blood. And shifts do fit quite well around the horses (although I'm on nights for the next six weeks, so literally have to drag myself up to ride when I wake up. Always feel better after riding!). It sounds really insignificant too, but I found intensive care really frustrating as you are stuck in your cubicle and can't leave your patient all shift pretty much, whereas now, I get to take patients all round the hospital to all the wards, or Xray and CT, or pick stuff up from pharmacy, and I know everyone. That really helps me enjoy it!
I sometimes dream about studying medicine though.... if you can't beat em, join em!

FOUND THIS POST AT LAST! What an interesting bunch we all are!

Well since Monday I have had a new role in the form of a BluBottle Executive…. I bet you have never heard of that one! The office kitchen has been evaded by the little blighters. My god you should have seen the kitchen on Monday! – you were frightened to open the door – they were everywhere dive bombing you. I have spent all week fumigating and almost passing out at the same time! Now perhaps the guys will put their unwanted food in the rubbish bin and not on the bl??dy floor!

My usual job is PA/Office Manager for a local company. I used to work for a blue chip company but they moved to Surrey. I spent many a night with the guys there working of course – it was really great fun and we all try and meet up (15-20 of us) for a meal once or twice a year.

A few years back I had a horsey product which was advertised in a nationwide horsey magazine. I had lots of customers buying my gadget for their rugs. I still have more to sell but my website is no longer up and running as I don’t know how to create one and keep telling myself to sell them on e-bay, but you know what its like…. you end up doing something else more important. One of my customers brought 10 for very rug she had for her one horse!... perhaps you purchased one of my gadgets?

I'm another very lucky stay at home housewifey type - my husband owns four vet practices, and so can keep me in the style to which I'd like to become accustomed!!! (in between ferrying round 4 kids & doing the associated washing, tidying etc!!!) We have a general manager too, so husband only goes in to work one day a week as well...... Pair of bone idle so &so's really.....;);)

im at uni.......... i also work in catering......... i am also doing a diploma.......

im also very busy :D lol!

I plan to be a vet physiotherapist though :)

I used to work with horses but it can be tough, having your own and working with them.

Now i have a "normal" job.
Its much better paid and i have been able to add to my herd!

Very bored Civil Engineer currently working on the dreariest concrete reinforcement (could that ever be really interesting?), hence number of posts on HHO today. Have discovered that reinforced concrete is just as boring in French as it is in English. Spend a lot of time fathoming out the continental keyboard.

Want to be a full-time p*sh-head and horse botherer. Do I need to go back to uni for that? :D

Own/run an airfield and flying school.
So...i do the above which includes basically running an airfield, booking in customers for flights, communication to aircraft via radio, phones, money handling, lots of fake smiling when customers are being irritating!!, plus i do the accounts and books for 4companies (inc my airfield accounts and my flying school accounts).
I work 6 full days a week from 8.30 untill we finish flying which can be up to 9pm.
but generally about 7pm.
Doesnt pay brilliantly but i am my own boss and i am working for my own companies etc so its in my own interest not to be greedy with my earnings!!
Its varied, and hectic, and v v tiring, but it means i can afford my house, an ok car and my horse in livery (part livery). Wilst still having a holiday etc

WOW - so many different jobs!!
I'm a wildlife artist and I do horsey/daft animal cartoons too as you can see in my sig. - not very thrilling I'm afraid!!!:)

Network manager in Cyprus, responsible for 6 sites which include Gibraltar and another v far away location. Very busy job, lots of travel and very long hours. Enjoy the variety though I work for the Government which means the pay is a bit low. On a non renewable 5 year contract ending in September so what next - who knows!

Previously I have been IT instructor for Army soldiers, IT trainer for a college and when I was younger I worked as a riding manager and instructor at a summer school which was the best ever job but only during my student holidays. Also been a hunt groom for a very rich lady, house, horse + pet sitter, breaking and schooling horses and fixing people's nutters. Oh and have made scotch eggs and lipstick cases in a factory (not the same factory lol).

Tuesday to Friday nights I'm an evening legal secretary in a large international law firm. The rest of the time I have my own business, cat sitting. I adore my cat sitting job as it is successful enough to have allowed me to only work 4 nights a week instead of 5, but that coupled with my 3 horses and everything else in life means I look forward to going to my "proper" job for a sit down and a bit of a rest!!! lol!

I work as an equine sales rep, its not all that its cracked up to be. Funny place the equestrian world at times

I work in a Dog Groomers called Pawfection :)
Planning to gain as much experience and qualifications as I can then set up my own business!

Staff nurse in a medical admissions unit.

Loved my job but after five years the politics and excessive paperwork is driving me out.

Have just done an equine bodyworkers course and will be studying McTimoney Corley from Sept. Hoping for a career change!

Once a trained nurse
then a legal secretary
then housewife - 2 kids

Now:

I am the joint-owner of a Shetland pony stud - breed and train to harness standard Shetland ponies - http://www.thordale.co.uk

So then I became a professional photographer - http://www.onlinepictureproof.com/francestaylor

I also write a monthly article for Carriage Driving Magazine about our rescue pony, Charlot!

Busy, busy!

I'm a dialysis nurse working 2 x 12hr night shifts per week. The job is great as my patients are the same all the time and you get to know them really well.

The only down side is that my OH works away mon - fri so I can only work a fri and sat night when he is home to babysit. We don't see much of each other! But it leaves me lots of time for the horses during the week!

I'm a school secretary at my daughters school - good working hours and long holidays, which works really well with the horses as i have lots of time. Just finished work for the 6 week summer break -bliss!
