I work in Engineering/Tech industry as a manager. In theory, should be flexible but I end up doing long hrs due to workload.

That said, those that work for me have a good deal (I think/hope!). I only ask them to come into the office if they need to for specific tasks, otherwise they can work from home if they are being productive doing so. Likewise I/we (the business) don't mind people working flexible hours, as long as the work doesn't suffer.

I do take out hrs here and there from the working day to attend vets, farriers and retrieve escaped ponies! But I don't habitually change my hrs around to ride. When life gets a little quieter, maybe I will take some time out at 2 ish to ride, then work through the evening.

I was a teacher but I am now a self employed dog groomer running my own salon from home. I work 9.30-4.30/5pm, 4 days a week, but I will block off the odd morning or afternoon for appointments for the horses. I book up 5-6 weeks in advance though so I have to think ahead.
Two days a week I am the lead assessor at Northern Education & Training, my friends company. We offer animal based apprenticeships. I am mostly office based there though will go out on the road to see the odd apprentice. The office is less than a mile from my house and I’m self employed there so very flexible. I absolutely love it as I helped to set the apprenticeship up so feel very much like its ‘our baby’. I do 9.30-4.30 there.
So I work 6 days a week in all.

Procurement consultant - I get paid to spend other peoples money. Hours can be bonkers when we're on a major project, and I wasn't particularly good at not working all hours. When I did get control of it then it was grand. I'd ride at some point in the day, with the occasional call taken whilst going sideways across a field ??.

Now I do a bit of the consulting, have a pet bed business, and very excitingly have just set up a small retirement livery yard. Hours are still bonkers but they're flexible to some extent and I'm happy.
