My instructor wants me to invest in some new boots as mine at the moment are quite bulky (Mountain Horse Rimfrosts) and my feet tend to get wedged in the stirrup! So looking for something quite slimline, any ideas??

I thought that! but she seems to think that by wearing something less bulky it will make me feel my heels lift more, therefore correct myself easier. So that should stop my feet sliding right forwards.

Hope that makes sense !!???!!

Ive got the Dublin Jod Boots with the zips in the front, they are the most comfotable boots I have ever owned and look good

thanks guys! il have a look round the online stores. another quickie... as im not too experienced in boot buying! What is the difference between choosing ones that slip on or zips up the front?? Is it just personal preference??

Thanks u lot, your great!

I have had a pair of Loveson boots for ages and been really unkind to them - they are still going strong on top, although I have finally managed to wear the heel through on the bottom so stones keep catching in there (I'm still too tight to buy a new pair!). They are cheap (£36) and are not the smartest for competing in but if you want something for pleasure riding and wearing around the yard they are good.

i got these boots called 'elite equestrian' i think? they are amazing. they cost £60 and have lasted me 4 years! and they're really comfortable xxx

I think im gonna have a look at some ariat ones, as i want some chaps too! And obviously have to match, hehe. This is gonna be one expensive treat! My credit card is gonna faint!
Thinking about it, shall i wait till Badminton?? Its my first time going, do you think i should be able to find some there??

2nd vote for these jodphus boots! I got them from Jet Set Saddlery (which is now Derby House) and they're really comfy and look pretty smart. Mine only get a rub of saddle soap every now and then (if they're lucky!) and have lasted well. Used all year round for riding, bringing in/out of field, everything really!

I am currently eyeing up some Mountain Horse Stirling boots though with the funny treads though...! Not through need, purely want!

dubbin are pretty good but i dont really ride with jodphur boots i ride with show jumping boots and i ride in my mum dubarys there so comfy my mum uses cavallo never heard of them but she wears them all the time

The thing that puts me off is the price compared to others (e.g. Ariats which seem to have a better name/rep for a similar price) and am worried that I'm being "bought" by their marketing and the "gadget" factor, when the treads might not be that great/useful! Will go try them on sometime, just haven't got round to it yet- tack shops are all too far away from me!

the ariat bog standard heritage ones are more slim line than the expensive ones

ariats get a thumbs up from me

I have Ariats : These are my second pair, they last years. They are supportive and very warm in the winter. Excellent quality and the zip makes them easy to use. I know they are not the cheapest but I would go with these every time.

Once you've had a pair of ariats you won't want to wear anything else. I have 3 pairs so I can trash a pair at the yard and still have smart ones, how greedy is that

The next thing is that im gonna want some new chaps to go with!!!
Also do i go for black or brown....decisions, decisions!!!
What is the name of ur ariats?

Ariats are lovely, I agree, but they are not aprticularly hrd wearing IMO, also experience shared by several people I know who spend alot of time in their boots. VEry confy and look good, but don't expect them to be longest lasting.....
