I’m fully aware this is probably a really stupid question but I’m totally clueless when it comes to showing/competing in any sense. I’ve just started showing my two year old piebald sports horse (nothing fancy just some low level county shows) the next show I have is another riding club show but it’s in late October so she definitely won’t be looking her best with her patchy coat! She is rugged already but I’m just curious what sort of clip you would do for something like that? It’s also more for experience as well. Any advice for inhand turnout/ clipping welcome!!

I personally would clip a 2 yo. If you have to to get her used to clippers I would just do a very small bib clip. I certainly wouldn't be clipping just for the sake of one show.

Oh ok that’s even better! I’d like to try an avoid it if I could but I just worried that if I didn’t I’d me the only one and I’d look stupid!

What's more important? How your horse looks or keeping her coat to keep her warm in winter?? If its a youngstock class I doubt anyone will clip. Just make sure you are both as clean as possible! Judges will be well aware of the time of year and will expect to see some woolley ponies!! Make sure you stand out by having a well mannered pony that trots up well.

Please, definitely do not clip. Under some affiliated rules its actually prohibited to show a 3 and under if clipped.
Any judge of repute would also frown on this too., even at unaff level.
Clean up, practice walking and trotting out, plus standing out well, enjoy the class ?
