What kind of livery would you expect for 200 a month?

For an extra £40 a month you could have full livery in a newly refurbed yard, large indoor, large outdoor, 25 acres turnout between 15 horses and a XC course.

Secure tack room and rug storage.

Access to offroad hacking a 10 min walk away. Very nice people and very horsey area. Soon to start some on the yard shows and instruction sessions...

OR

For £10 more you could have DIY livery for 2 horses.
Private yard (only 4 stables)
Huge amounts of starage for tack (in a secure room), rugs, feed, hay and straw all in individual rooms.
14 acres of grazing (between 4... remember ;))
Right next door to the full livery yard and free/v.cheap school hire
Indoor turnout for when it is rainy/snowy or the vet/farrier is coming out. Brilliant for laminitics if you want them to move around with restricted eating!
Amazing hacking.
Friendly people.

Disadvantage is you have to provide your own hay, straw etc.
If you want it cheaper, knock £60 a month off and have a mere 7 acres, just means you won't get your own hay cut or have somewhere to jump in the summer ;)

Sorry... probably not the answer you were looking for ;)

well, here i know of yards that charge £40 a week for stable, haylage and bedding, no winter turnout but a sand paddock.... so an extra £10 a week might get your horse turned out in a morning (ooo - but they dont have winter turnout so maybe not!)

In the past i have charged approx £50 for part livery which actually ended up more like full livery as the horse was done 6.5 days a week! but.... the lady bought her bedding by the bale, own hard feed, and he was also deep littered rather than full mucking out daily.

Eeek can't believe you are paying that much! I pay £15 a week DIY for stable, unlimited, managed grazing and good hacking. For £50 around here I would expect part livery with excellent facilities, feed/hay/bedding included, but exercising not included.

i'm currently paying 70 - yes 70 a week for 5 day muck out/turn out/ i bring in 3 days of the week - DIY @ week end - I provide my own hay & feed & have to provide my own straw for the week ends - not happy - but its not along term thing

i pay £45 a week fo rhay/straw/haylege (or shavings instead of straw)

and indoor/outdoor/the biggest field ive ever seen for hacking (will hills/xc jumps etclol)

:)

I pay €50/wk inc stable, bedding, hay and feed... plus unlimitted tea for the owners :D Only thing I have to do every day is skip out, but if I'm ever really stuck they'll do that too (advantage of being on small, personal yard!). Turnout in pairs every day on plenty of acreage, though limitted to a few hours a day at the moment to preserve spring/summer grass. Floodlit outdoor school, very private, quiet location and amazing hacking round lanes and off-road through forest. XC/hunter trials course being built in one of the next-door farmer's fields.

It's half the price of any of the other yards local to me, and I absolutely love it there... not to mention how much Monty loves it :)

Around here its £30 p/w for DIY. There's a yard close to me that is about £200 p/m with an outdoor jumping school, large indoor, single turnout, nice stables, xc course, gallops and horse walker. Includes hay/straw. Not sure if you have to pay extra to use some of the facilities but it's a really good deal if not!!

I pay £25 pw for stable, feeding in morning, individual all year t/o and outdoor school. We help each other put out/bring in.
Haylage £7 p/w, bedding £5 a bale shavings. I supply my own feed

I would either expect one of the following:

- exceptional smart DIY
- reasonable DIY with some bedding/forage/assistance
- or very shabby part livery

Me too. I rent a private yard for my two with a stable each, huuuge field shelter, hay barn, tack room, 2 acres of land that I graze as I see fit (farmer does re-seeding, harrowing, rolling etc), water and electricity for £30 a week. No school but excellent hacking.
