what kinda car tows your trailer?

Ifor 510 and a 2007 (the new engine) Ford Ranger. We only got the Ranger last week and so far I'm very pleased with it!

I'm hoping to get a lightweight or (even better!) single horse trailer for my 15.2 lightweight cob mare to go to parties in. Would be towed by a 2l Tdci Mondeo (1800kg braked towing allowance). I've checked all the weights etc and even a 505 comes within the 85% guidance limit. Just need to find the trailer now...!

That's interesting to hear- have you got the 2.5 or the 3.0l version ?

Probably not -:

1) Its engine at 2.0l is unlikely to have enough power to tow 2 (though may be able to manage one).

2) It may not have sufficient kerbweight to offset the laden trailer (you need to find out the kerbweight of the Fiat - the fully laden trailer shouldn't weight more than 85% of the kerbweight).

3) Check the towing capacity of the Fiat per the manufacturer's specifications. You mustn't exceed that.

It is quite difficult to find vehicles heavy and powerful enough to two two horses so my gut instinct is that the Fiat won't manage it

At least you have another vehicle though!

I'm not bothered I was just interested to know. I've looked in the manual that came with it, it's not heavy enough for the horse trailer but am legal with the caravan lol

Here, a bog standard fifth wheel stock wagon/trailer towed with a GMC Sierra

In the UK, Lamborne trailer with a Defender 110
