With baby horse I've just done a CIC*, the aim will be to do a CIC** next year and maybe a CCI*
Highest I've done is 2* and thought that was plenty big enough with that horse! Maybe Moon will do more....

P.N atm hoped 2 do novice at the end of this season but 2 much was cancelled hopefully do novice/ CIC* at gatcombe if they run it againg next year. if he is being good maby try int nov at end of next year!

Well my goal was to getting jumping over 3ft again!! I lost my bottle a few years ago from the type of horse I had.
I now have a lovely school Master that has done up to Advanced Level Eventing and I really could not ask for a better horse for me.
He has taken me from jumping 80cm to 1 meter 20, and going out and getting placed every time we go out.
I have got my first BE Event in 2 weeks which is OPN would like to do a few more OPN next season and maybe a Novice but would really need to run a few more OPN.
I did Milton Keynes a few weeks ago and we did the OPN and Novice fences and we were 4th.

So my goal is to carry on the way I am, and we can only get better.

Am intro but would be PN if it hadnt of been for various probs this year!! Would like to be half decent at Nov by end of next year, but not making any solid plans, CIC* would be ultimate for next season but not likely!!

Am currently at Novice with one horse and with my younger one, he's just done his first intro

Id like to do more intro's next year with the youngster but TBH he's a Welsh Cob so I doubt he'll go beyond PN! With my other horse, Id like to do an Intermediate / 2 day Novice or 1* sometime. I planned to do a 2 day this summer but horse had a bit of a confidence knock so very bad timing. Maybe next year...! I never plan to go above that though as I wouldn't trust myself to go any further!

I am unaff at the moment but happily going clear over 3ft ish XC & SJ - dressage not fab but def looking to do some intros next year. Planning on spending the winter doing lots of plain dressage comps and working on accuracy in SJ.

Here is hoping everyone gets to where they want to be - I look forward to all the reports.

I currently have done 1 U/A 2'6" ODE, however after attending 2 x XC clinic I have been told my horse and I are more than capable of doing intro and prenovice next year so I will probably try intro on aticket and see how we get on. However I think over winter I need to improve dressage (low 60s) and also get double clear SJ

At novice level at the moment, still feel bit nervous with height and technicality of them. Hoped to get confident at that level this year but so many cancelled ultimately my aim is blair 1* next year. But we will see how far guts and finances take us!! I agree with everyone u cant plan with horses lol!!

Hmmm... having not had a horse that jumps before I would have laughed at you if you had asked me this question as our feet were kept firmly on the ground - however my 'new' mare is only 4 but is loving jumping and happily popping logs etc out hacking and beginning to jump small courses in the school. I made the mistake of going to watch Intro and PN at the weekend and am now desperate to have a go....

So the aim for next year is Intro or equivalent and hopefully we'll be able to go PN the year after... Prob wouldnt go much further than novice, even if my horse could I think that would be my limit!!!

I agree cant really plan with horses!

But im Intro/PN with my 5yr old (Spider), PAVO 4yr old with Cruz my 4yr old and OPN/ON with Dexter

Plan is to complete next and last two events with success! Inc 1st Novice on Dexter.

Then next year, compete Cruz Intro then PN and PAVO 5yr olds, Spider not sure! Will hunt over winter and see how she goes hopefully PN and Nov but we will see! And Dexter hopefully Novice all year and a Novice 2 day to then qualify for a 1*, would love to be able to do an IN as well but we will see. It could all go to plan and above! Or could go t*ts up!

We will see!

Plan was to be at N by end of this season, but didn't pan out as horse I was competing just didn't have the right attitude for the whole eventing lark.

Not sure what next season holds really. I have been offered the ride on another horse at N/Int level, but currently not sure if I can afford it all yet. My personal situation will have completely changed by that time next year.
Ideally, yes I would like to be at Novice/Int/*level and having fun-but will have to wait and see! Just going to enjoy hunting my own horse, have a few lessons etc and see what the future holds for now!

I started affiliated eventing this season and have done 2 intro's and 2 pre-novices, just did my 2nd prenovice weekend and got a double clear!!

, we've got 1 more pre-novice this season and then hope to go novice as of September 2008 and love to do more if we can!!

i know better than to plan anything to do with horses.. but, my vague plans are...
if new horse passes vet, do dr and sj all winter, do 1 or 2 pn next spring, then a season of N, maybe with an I or two if she's as good as i hope...

I think there is a real demand for CIC*s that BE need to take note of. It is easier to qualify for than a CCI*, cheaper to enter, yet is near as dammit the same thing, so why the hell don't they put on a few more?! How about an amateur championships, a bit like the BSJA have created, run at CIC* level so people can borrow some top hat and tails and have a bloody good time?!

Returning to the OP's post - I'd like my two Novices to be ready for a 2* next Spring/early summer, but we'll see.... And re OP's horse - I think a 1* is a good aim, I took Liberty to Gatcombe 1* which I thought was an excellent educational course and he only started eventing this year and is a right wuss, so it's definately possible!
