Anyone recognise this saddle pin and/or the name on the plate? Sorry the quality is a bit terrible- it’s the best I could get as the plate is very worn.

I’m borrowing this saddle from a friend and sadly she needs it back. Perfectly understandable however it’s the only thing I’ve found that fits my incredibly tricky shaped young horse (despite 3 saddler visits) and I’m desperate to find another if possible! She can’t remember where it came from, so at an absolute blank.

Thank you all in hopeful anticipation!

Sandringham have SS on the pins and sandringham saddlery in the centre of the plate and saddle number stamped vertically behind nearside girth straps. Sorry but I can't help identify the make.

Is it possible that the pin heads have been replaced? My old Ideal came with an Ideal pin head on one side and a generic green horsehead one (I think) on the other. Personally, being a bit of a neat freak, if I'd lost the original pin head while the saddle was in my ownership, I'd probably have replaced them both with generic ones.

That badge definitely looks like Sandringham Saddlery to me.

Put a piece of thin paper over the badge and rub a soft pencil or charcoal all over it. . Will give you a clearer image of the lettering.

How soon does your friend need it back? Could you get your saddle fitter to identify exactly what about it means it is suitable for your horse? Were Sandringham saddles renowned for being a certain fit? (Guessing they produced many different shapes & sizes but for some reason I have in my head that they were narrow. I'm sure I spoke to someone who used them for breaking in youngsters.)

Eta, you probably already tried this but when I was a lass a saddle fitter brought trees to try on your horse, not saddles in the first instance. If you could identify the tree shape that suits him, that would narrow the field.
