The packaging! I heard somewhere it's actually diesel oil (can't be sure that's true) but I read recently a lot of people use Pledge furniture polish to do the same job?

I have also been told this, I know of people who use polish instead but I am yet to try it myself

I don't think it's worth it. I just used pig oil on the boy's mane, tail, feathers which will make them shiny white (soon!) and conditions beautifully. You can use human conditioner too but for brushing and keeping a mane or tail looking good, a smear of baby oil or furniture polish is just as good, IMO.

I'm not sure I'd want to use furniture polish on my horse's mane or tail. What would happen if another horse ate it or something in the field? (can you tell I have a boisterous horse?!)

I just use NAF mane & tail spray, but tempted to give pig oil a go!

I use pig oil its fab. Have used cowboys magic for grass stains and have found it quite useful.

follysmum, the green stain remover wasn't too bad think it was about £16, but the mane and tail stuff was 39.95. glad i didn't bother now, just wanted something to help keep the tails in tip top shape

I haven't used any for 6 weeks and literally used a 10p peice Sized blob and her mane is still soft, tangle free and shiny a bottle lasts me a year and I have a pulled mane horsey, and a full blown hippy of a Shetland who's tail drags on the floor and mane t his knees

Iv tried most sorts of mane/tail conditioners and get given a lot of samples in my line of work but I always go back to good old canter. Love the stuff

I like Megatek, i dilute it 4/1 and put it in a spray bottle - lasts ages. You can use it neat too. Its also good on rug rubs

Its expensive but even with regular use i havent used much at all

It smells divine - like holidays lol

I mix a small amount of baby oil with water.
Use an old spray bottle and shake before use.

Perfect!
