For 'better' please read 'stronger'

Daughter's pony is very strong and when doing dressage consistent comments are 'resistant', 'looking strong', 'against hand'.

He wears a french link snaffle with cheeks with a flash noseband.

Any suggestions? PC legal please.

She had great difficulty last sunday geting him to come back to trot after a canter in her test.

Just a few suggestions as there are so many out there,

Have you tried a hanging cheek? Or changing the metal of the bit (obviously whilst staying within the BD rules)

I agree with a hanging cheek, you could also consider trying a drop noseband - it is surprising how much difference they actually make.

I have used a hanging cheek in mine but find he is better in a loose ring snaffle as less to lean on. currently using a single link one, he overbends a bit with a lozenge one.

He also goes quite well in a myler comfort snaffle (BD and RC) legal but only if I don't use it too often.

George isn't particularly strong but he is big and leans and we used to get resistent, against hand etc. I had him in a loose ring french link snaffle with flash, I now have him in a myler mullen mouth hanging cheek and he is like a different horse. Expensive, but you can hire them to try first.

Another vote for the myler mullen mouth hanging cheek. I've tried dozens and it's the ONLY one I can get any sense out of him with! He's also big and strong and leans on me and this stops it. My boy hates anything jointed - either single or lozenged so the mullen mouth was the best option for me but any hanging cheek should do the trick.
