What noseband is better?

My boy opens his mouth so wears a flash and every now and then will take it off.
Then i heard today that a grackle is good for a horse that opens his/her mouth but i thought a grackel was more for a horse that crosses his/her jaw a lot.

So i was wondering which noseband will be better for my boy.

Grackel or Flash

My horse prefered and worked better in a grakle. Someone tld me a grakle is less harsh than a flash but dont no how true that is lol

Possibly as grakles do up in different places and less prone to dropping down when done up That's my reasons anyway.

I always felt that Grackles distribute the pressure more evenly and over a wider surface area and in this way they are a) kinder and b) more effective.

My late Mum's pony was a beggar for opening his mouth at the same time as crossing his jaw to evade the bit - safe as houses except he would do it to walk into roads at junctions...)

Anyhoo, we found that a Mexican Grackle worked a treat and only came into play if he and Mum had a... er.... difference of opinion!

Thanks, i think i will ask my friends and see if they have one i can borrow and then see how my boy goes in one and then if goes well buy my own x

Yep, bit worried that if i fitted wrong would cause problems but i would get my instructor to check it first tho! x
