What numnah do you use?

[ QUOTE ]
You have a new saddle coming so presumably it fits really well. You need a very thin numnah/saddle cloth as anything thicker will spoil the fit & tighten the saddle up over your horses withers & back & you don't want that. Forget sheepskin lined cloths & polypads as you shouldn't need them. A simple plain thin numnah will surfice. Good Luck.

Ahh this is the thing (saddle is a changeable gullet thing - to replace the old changeable gullet thing

) so saddler is seeing it the end of this week to fit it for me ..

I am debating having it fitted with my nice thick numnah and prolite (because I am paranoid about her back) but I think that may be a bad idea

I use the HKM saddlecloths too, or Inch's own. They are thin enough not to disturb the saddle fit, but are soft and absorbant. I don't like using think sadlecloths if the saddle has been properly fitted. Ditto half pads, unless the saddle is designed to take one under it (some fitters allow for this).

Yes I see what you mean .. ofcourse I shall just do what the saddler says but I am soo paranoid about her back that I have to get over my irrational hate of thin numnahs
