What paper work do you take with you to BE events?

Hi guys, sorry me again, come to ask numpty questions about events.

I've never competed at a BE event before or been with someone who was actually competeing so can someone please tell me what paper work you will need to take with you?

I've got down passports, flu certificates, rule book, emergence contacts, medical card and directions but i really wanted to know about membership cards (if BE have them?)? and how you know times? do you wright them down yourself or do BE send you a list of the times?

Anything else i might have forgoten?

Tbh, all that i take is passport with all vacs info etc... scribble down my times on a peice of paper, and the rulebook just incase i forget any part of the DR test :) Ooh and make sure you take your medical armband :)
 
I keep photocopied dressage tests in the lorry, so one less thing to remember on the day amongst all the other kit.

Times are available on line and by text a few days beforehand, I always request the text so they are in my phone so again one less thing to remember.

Other than that as above just medical armband and passport.

BE used to do car/lorry passes but I haven't seen then for a couple of years now since they have been moving to online, tbh I have never been asked for anything on entering the car park with horses on board.
 
we have a printed out and whatever its called plastic coated copy of every dressage test from BE90 - Novice ones [even though im not doing Novice... yet ;)]

Passport of every horse going

a bit of ID for me - just incase you can never be too careful :)

Rulebook so you can check up on anything etc.

a proper print out of times from BDWP/BE Website & the text if you get one.

Your number & sec written down so when you get to the sec its not guesstimate, so it's quicker and easier

and DO check your passport. I can't be the only person who has handed in the wrong passport as had both of mine on the lorry. I felt such an idiot as well as looking very dubious. My cries of "I will just go back and get the right one" fell on deaf ears..
 
I have a rule book that lives on wagon so tests always therer. Ditto times etc from text or bdwp. More than one horse we have a time schedule stuck to lorry door.

Just passports and medical armbands etc

Car pass, they changed them to be the same as the membership card however you will probably not be checked if you are towing or in a awagon!
 
If you are a BE member don't forget to take the BE magazine with you, make sure it's the one with the schedule and info of the event you are attending. The schedule part will list the BE dressage test for your class (test varies from event to event), start fee and the secretary and abandonment telephone number for the event. But most important of all useful directions (often advising which routes NOT to use) and the postcode and grid reference of the venue. Really useful as competitions are often out in the sticks down single track roads! The hard to find ones are often in the nicest places. Don't rely too much on horse trials direction signs as these are often scarce! Good luck :)
 
We take everything and the kitchen sink....just a basic run down of the kit we take:

Passport
Medical Card
Registration papers and FEI passport
BE rule book
BE mag
anything received from the event
map and sat nav
riders clothes, plus a full spare set
Equissage
Dressage saddle, SJ saddle, XC saddle, 3 different bridles, 3 sets of boots
first aid kit for horse and ride
about 10 numnahs, rugs and bandages
ice gel, ice packs
a fully stocked fridge and snack cupboard (inc the champers on ice incase we win)
the video camera and not forgetting plenty of loo roll!
 
I ditto the passport. If they are doing passport checks, if its not with you, or you have the wrong one, you wont be allowed to complete. I recall last year when a friend's daughter had entered in the BE90 at Stockland Lovell, as had Mini TX. Friends sprog got the Saturday, Mini TX the Sunday. Friend forgot the passport, and despite promises that I would bring it with me the following day, they fell on deaf ears. I ended up doing the drive down just so that she could compete. Had a nice day, and thank goodness its only an hour and a half away from me, but hassle all the same.
