What plant/flower is this?

Opened a bag of commercial haylage this evening. It didn’t smell nice like all the others have, and has loads of these orange flowers.

They might be totally normal, but I’m paranoid since my horse ate something toxic before!

It's hard to tell in that state but they look too big to be ragwort
I'd guess something like hawkbit, cat's ear or fox and cubs

I think it could be knapweed dried up and gone brown.

Actually, looking carefully at that first picture I’m tempted to say clover too. You can see all the individual tube-y petals.

Yes, clover makes good hay. Sometimes a bit dusty.

I thought clover until I looked at the stem which has a square or triangular cross section, you can see the corners, so I still think hardheads aka common knapweed. Non toxic
