It's garlic mustard, in its 2nd year. Completely safe. I pick it for my rabbits and they go nuts for it.

It smells really powerful. I have it in my paddock and often wondered if I can use it for cooking but as I’m not culinary trained I’ve refrained so far just in case I poison myself.

We call it Jack in the Hedge and I pick it to put in salads. Free addition to expensive bagged salads. Has a mild garlic flavour.

I just chuck it in with that Elmlea plant cream - there's probably a proper recipe if you Google it ( or ask someone who can actually cook!)

i just noticed this plant in my garden, i first thought it was stinging nettles but then realised it was different. i just googled and its supposed to spread really quickly so my job for tomorrow is to pull it up, glad you posted

yep, lots of plants produce/contain it in small amounts though (e.g. apples - or their seeds at least - and lots of stone fruits.)

Definitely garlic mustard, Alliaria petiolata; there's loads of it growing around here, including in my garden.
Picky Weedia notes that "young first-year garlic mustard plants contain up to 100ppm cyanide, a level which is toxic to many vertebrates", but this is tagged "dubious".

You'd have to eat an awful lot of it before it had any effect. Just don't put any peach kernels in there at the same time
