I am looking at a horse and wondered if someone has any ideas of what sort of price he would be worth or what you would be willing to pay for him.

6 year old Warmblood gelding by Goshka Ringo - Bloodlines include Olympic Ferro, Purioso, Furioso II & Samber

• Burghley Young Event Horse 4 yr old Finalist
BD 2010, gaining 39 points Wins every time out. Qualified Summer regionals 2010 where placed 8th in. QUALIFIED and ENTERED FOR WINTER NATIONALS - Prelim.

any help would be appriciated..... I'm just struggling on what price to offer/pay

How much are the owners asking for him? If you like him then be prepared to make a slightly reduced offer but don't lose him for the sake of a few hundred pounds if he is "The One".

He sounds amazing!!!

Presumably if you are buying a horse with that quality you have specialised trainers and infrastructure, all lined up to keep you and horse up to scratch? They should know, would imagine way out of the league for most of us!

If not, a case of looking through the H&H website, etc and seeing what horses with that potential are going for.

i know..... the price started at 20k (ouch) but is moving down....!! I'm just not sure on this horses breeding....and what he may be worth with what he has already done

i am wanting something for Affilliated dressage after recently loosing my horse we moved through the grades to medium level and so am hoping to get something similar to carry on at his level and a bit higher if possible..... not looked at horses etc for years so am a bit out of the loop....

Ok, so he is 6, does a very good Prelim dressage test and obv has good confo, a nice jump and is an eventer stamp. If he did 4yo BYEH, and dressage last year, I would love to know what he was doing in 2009. Has he continued jumping? Done and comps?

As for price, sadly he has *potential* written all over him so that means the price will be high, but equally he could just be a very solid and decent RC horse as his boundaries have not been tried and tested yet. I wouldn't pay any more than £12k for him, and that is if he has really DECENT potential: Very hard to price without seeing him!

I am pretty sure I know which horse it is, I have seen him on the web. He does look smart, but £20k is a LOT of money. Goshka Ringo is not really smart breeding, but at the end of the day, his breeding is irrelevant as he is a gelding. It is what he is capable of doing in the competition ring that matters. I would have thought he was worth £12k.

It is worth looking at the Horse and Hound classifieds and also the ones on the BD website to get an idea of current ASKING prices. £20k does sound rather expensive.
