What Quarter Horse stallion would you use on this mare?

Hi, as title really. Looking at stallions for my QH mare

I don't have a recent pic of her on photobucket but here is an old one from when we went to view her to give you and idea of her conformation

She won a supreme championships at halter as a youngster so has good conformation. She's had two foals already I believe. I've seen one of them.

She's around 14hh.

I was just wondering if anyone has any preferences or opinions on QH stallions out there just now.

Looking to breed an alrounder, not really much of a western scene up here in scotland all the comps seem to be down south adn east coast etc. Would like a go at reining and like foundation bred horses (don't know if the two are compatible)

I like the look of these stallions - opinions appreciated. Thanks

thanks

Thanks but the first one is only to proven performance mares and our isn't unless her halter stuff counts?

stallion 2 is a pleasure type which in my limited knowledge means they tend to be bit leaner and leggier....

Love the appy but looking to breed a purebred QH.

sorry for being difficult and thank you for the links!

One dun, one cremello....
and both a long way from Scotland, although TTC is AI only so not so much travelling.

The dun is a much chunkier sort of chap, has a neatish head, looks fairly short coupled and, (no offence, I like my QH's) puts me in mind of a Highland pony (another breed I like very much) So if you wanted to add a bit of bone perhaps he would suit. Apparently all his foals have been duns/bucksins/grullas too.

Of the two, personally, I would veer towards the dun.

I am biased but you could check out my Quarter Horse stallion - he doesn't do western but has done most other things including dressage, show jumping, Riding Club eventing, hunting and friend to me.

Waccabuc Bay Charger -

Yeah, I've looked through it but was just wondering if anyone had used any stallions and had any personal experience of them and their offspring.

Thanks

Toys Triple Chick would have my vote - but then I am VERY biased

. Most of my horses have the same bloodlines as him. You can't beat Two Eyed Jack, in my opinion.

There are a lot of Chex bloodline horses around where I live and in fact I went to a Chex stud last Saturday. They are nicely put together "pleasure" horses (the total opposite from what I want in AQHA horses) and I found every single one I viewed was rather sharp...definitely not cowy, which is no good to me. Pretty, leggy and more slight than my guys - and I left with a definite, no I wouldn't have one and instead I bought another Two Eyed Jack filly on Sunday

Zero Skipkeo is getting on now, but the offspring I have seen from him have all been nice with very good temperments. Our own PB mare was a very nice person & she was by Skip.

If you think you may want to do reining, then I would choose a stallion with reining or cutting bloodlines or one who has proven themselves showing. If you'd rather not use a sorrel or bay then DA Steady Vegas is a very well bred palomino and has proved himself in most western events.
