what references when rehoming?!

I have to rehome my dog and want references but Im not really sure who should provide the references? anybody got any ideas?

A bit pointless if you ask me, as like you say who are you going to get to give them.... family? friends?- am pretty sure you wont find a bad reference in this situation.........

Vet possibly? Why does he need rehoming and how are you looking to find the right person?

he chased sheep and although he doesnt run off, hes very well trained I cant risk it happening again and him being shot, I would never forgive myself.
I thought maybe a vet?
I have put him on pets4homes and I have one lady that has left me a message about him, Im ringing her back tonight.

if they were first time owners though they would not know the vet...... and even if not the only ref could be "vaccinates yearly"

Difficult as vet's are limited by data protection.
Ask if they have photos of their previous dog perhaps or contact the breed rescue for advice.
Can they provide better fences than you or are they less rural?

BTW I have refused to sell kittens & puppies to vets as I didn't think they ( the ones looking to buy) were suitable owners.

What about rehoming through a breed society?
Or maybe ask them how to go about it.
