What replaced Nissan Terrano?

Not sure but they certainly don't make the 5 door Terrano any more as we were looking for one last year. We bought a Hyundi Terrican instead, great towing 4x4

do you tow a trailer and two horses with it?
 
Yes and as my husband says it's happier towing than not!! We also tow caravan with it and again you wouldn't know van was on! It's a great 4x4 at the price, does what it says on the tin! Fuel consumption on daily basis is about 32mpg which for a something that size is pretty good!

No, the X-trail is a grass and gravel offroader - very gutless. Suspect it may be the Pathfinder. The Terrano is good at towing, but rwd which would put me off. Friend has had one since 1998 and loves it!

Isn't RWD better for towing?
 
i was going to buy the x trail and the local nissan dealer said it would be no good towing a ifor 510
 
Terrican and Terrano then I think.....

I want something that's nice and more 'car like' inside as it will be my only car and I have to travel long distances sometimes.

These two also seem to come up best on fuel efficiency.
 
Our Terrano is our main car used by the family on a daily basis and it is very comfy inside, the back seats have oodles of room for the kids and are slightly more elevated than the front so they see loads - doesn't stop them fighting though! Go and have a test drive in each of them and see how you feel! Oh I love car shopping!!!
 
I hadn't heard that - personally I prefer 4wd for towing and all road use. But maybe that is because of the horrors I experienced in snow in a BMW many years ago - in the end could only go backwards as rwd and no weight in the damn thing! Has put me off rwd cars, it was also poor in the wet, so no Ferrari for me... 4x4s tend to be heavier, so should be ok. It's probably just me!

Surely you can switch a 2wd into a 4wd at the flick of a switch? why would you make a 4wd that wasn't 4wd - someone educate me or am I being a complete plank?
 
No, you are not being a plank!
You can easily switch from 2WD to 4WD whenever needed.
I think driving in 2WD is supposed to be more economical.
