what rugs do u have on today?

I can send you my copy if you want; not exactly highbrow reading but quite fun (although I am slightly obsessed with Gregor Mendel and his pea plants  :o )

I was going to put it on my Christmas list :p But that's a very kind offer :)

Who isn't a little obsessed with Mendel and his oddly perfect results :p :D

Well just been down to check the horses, tb's been wearing his thermatex type rug and was moist on the outer around shoulders! Planned to put him in a mw but kept him in cooler! Don't know what's going on with him this year! He'd normally be in a mw at least! Must be the straw he's now bedded on!!

pm me your address; I'll have to dig it out from a trunk in my dad's garage next time I am up :)

I felt so sorry for him when he was advised to work with hawkweed instead, with no knowledge of apomixis :(

Science is cruel like that

Rowan (welshx tb) has a blanket clip combined with a trace clip and he has a lightweight rug with 200g neck on plus a 50g turnout without a neck on top. At night he has a 200g stable combo.

Dancer (tb) has the same clip as above but is a sensitive child so has a 200g combo turnout on in the day and approx 250-300g stable combo on at night.

Lola (exmoor) has nothing on and will continue to have nothing on all winter!

My fully clipped ISH is wearing a lycra hood -the face, waffle and heavy weight turnout rug with full neck. :o BUT she is not hot at all in the mornings or at night. :)

Fully clipped and currently toasty warm in a 100gm turn out which he'll probably wear for most of the winter unless it gets extremely cold - I dragged my MW out last winter and he wore it once and was too warm - it was minus 17 at the time!

Before I clipped him he was sweating even in a rainsheet - he's a very hot coblet.
