what rugs do your horses have on atm?

Leo - unclipped cob and slightly overweight - naked
Berti - unclipped WB but recovering from accident and no winter coat to speak of - LW no neck

Quite frosty where I am this morning with temperatures of 1-2 degrees.

WB Chaser Clipped but no coat to speak of - Had 2 LW/MW stable rugs on last night and in a MW Combo today (night time lows of 3 degrees, day temps are around 8)

yikes!

4 degrees overnight, mine are out in day, in at night:

CS, fully clipped TB in hard work, at night-armadillo magnet sheet, thermatex, LW full neck stable rug and HW full neck stable rug, leg wraps.

in the day, the magnet sheet comes off, and the HW stable rug is replaced with a HW full neck turnout, the thermatex and LW full neck stay on, and he also has a snuggy hood on.

Bruce, fully clipped irish chappy in medium work-same as above.

Toby-hunter clipped shetland in light work-thermatex and MW full neck stable rug at night, HW full neck turnout in day. he's clipped so that he doesnt get sweaty and chilled when working, so he does need decent rugs on as is a bit of a wimp!!!

7/8 TB x ID with a hunter clip out during day in either MW or HW (weather changing day to day here) full neck. Stabled over night in a fleece and MW half neck stable rug.

Bit cool this morning......

TB - High blanket clip, in full work, l/w stable rug and 200g full neck turnout, in at night, out in the day, stay's in same rugs.

TB/Welsh D - Full clip, in medium work, 200g full neck turnout, in at night, out in the day, stay's in same rugs.

TB - unclipped at moment, not worked, but coming back into work in the next week or two, as long as we don't have snow, l/w turnout, standard neck, in at night, out in the day, stay's in same rugs.

TB/ID - unclipped, retired (23), l/w turnout, in at night, out in the day, stay's in same rugs.

Big old fella has 2 light weight (no fill) rugs on one with a neck one without & swamp donkey has 1 light weight (no fill) rug on. both are stabled at night and out during the day

Keep in mind that we're in France:

Arab x Trotter - unclipped and naked day and night (summer coat still)

Cob Normande X - unclipped and naked day and night (getting a fluffy coat)

Welsh D x TB - unclipped and naked day and night (summer coat still)

French Cob type (24 years young) - unclipped and naked day and night (getting a fluffy coat)

Belgian WB - unclipped, LW rug at night (summer coat still)

Hanovarian (4 yr old) - in at night, MW rug (no neck), naked and out during the day except he's rugged today so that mummy can ride him and not need to brush too much mud off. No, seriously, it's turned a tiny bit colder so he's rugged to keep him warm today (summer coat still)

Prince33Sp4rlke, what are you going to do when it actually gets COLD???

When it got proper cold last year (-15) fully clipped cob had single duvet adapted with clips on front, stable rug & fleece on!!!

Never sweaty, but nice & warm!

One (retired WB) is naked.

Riding horse - Connie x TB, who I'm desperately trying to put weight on & has pretty much outgrown his clip is in a 100gm Rambo.

TB, in foal, is also in a 100gm rug.

All are out 24/7 and would be far too hot in anything more.

Big Bailey, 17hh ID X WB, not fat but not slim either! Hunter clip but coat growing back - MW with neck.
Frank 15.2/16hh TB, skinny minny, unclipped - HW with neck.
Little Bailey - 15hh ISH, not fat but not slim either! Clipped couple months back but coat almost full again - MW with neck.
Stan - 14.1hh TBxWelsh, just about perfect weight! Clipped couple months back but coat almost full again, arthritic - MW with neck.
Foxy Lady - 10hh Shetland, old lady, carrying no excess fat! Unclipped hairy mary - old HW with neck so possibly more MW ish now.
Temps about 3-4 deg here & they all live out at the moment.

It was 1 this morning here :( brrrrr!

All out in H/W today as it won't get above 3. (AAxWB full clip, IDxTB full clip & Sec A full clip)

Tonight they'll wear between 250 -300g depending what my weather app says!

All living out 24/7

Little flat tb - medium amigo no neck
Big p2p tb - same as above
(Both aren't clipped but don't grow huge coats)

New p2p one - 300g middle with neck (high chaser clipped)

L - Midweight turn out with neck, she is 32 in the spring and gets stiff and uncomfortable when she's cold, was just warm enough this morning, will add a fleece underneath in next few days if it gets any colder

S - Heavyweight turn out, he's fully clipped, never been clipped before, 13 y/o fat but lacking condition, previously too hot in a midweight, since clipped he feels about right in the heavyweight.

B - Stable rug (thin) with neck, and heavyweight turn out over the top, fully clipped, 11 y/o grew up in a lady's kitchen sleeping by arga so very nesh! was a little cold this morning, I will be adding her thermalux tonight

All out in the day and stabled at night, we had frost the last few mornings. Sounds a lot compared to other people's but my younger 2 are fully clipped and Lottie is very old, they seem happy enough and feel a good temperature.

WB, no work atm (Waiting for arena floodlights to go up).
Mediumweight, with a massive "ventilation hole" down the side :D Out 24/7. Will be coming in, in the next few weeks once the lights go up and I clip her out fully. Then she will be in a 450g.
No hard feed unless I do get to work her over the weekend. Does get Hay in the field as there is no grass to speak of!
She is still a bit porky and this is the first time in at least 4 years she will have winter turnout, or ever even (Dutch Import, doubt they even turn out over there). This is certainly the longest she has been out 24/7 in 4 years.
Overnight temps of about 1-4 degrees here.

Full clipped TB - 450g full neck and unclipped WBx - 100g no neck. Both are regrettably out 24/7 for the forseeable and in no work.

Thanks everyone, my little connie really feels the chill and as soon as I take his rug off to tack him up he starts shivering bless him! He currently has MW with neck with stable rug!

Heavyweight hairy cob unclipped and has a 300gm standard neck rug on because A She was cold and B its the only rug I had that fitted her lol! I was worried she would overheat but she nice and snuggly and never too hot underneath it :) I am just pondering what I might need to do should I clip her lol

Big one - chaser clipped in limited work with lots of coat - l/w Weatherbeeta with/without neck depending on rain. Out during day, in at night with neckless stable rug.

Smaller one - unclipped for the moment with fluffy coat, coming back into work after layoff - l/w Amigo without neck. Again, out during day, in at night with stable rug.

Have plenty of other rugs waiting in the wings for when the weather does turn cold!

28 year old unclipped and looks like she was knitted on fat needles :), out naked during the day, in naked at night. She feels the cold a bit and shivers miserably if she gets even slightly damp and there is some wind, but its still 8 degrees here today (NW England) (was 13 on Saturday), dry and perfectly pleasant. She hates being rugged anyway and likes to roll just to spite me when I put a rug on. She is very stiff in the mornings and getting up isn't so easy for her these days so I don't want to encourage her to be getting down straight away before her legs have really got going. If she does need one during the day its just an unfilled rainsheet. She has a big breakfast before she goes out which gives her good central heating.
