General question. In this wind, rain and its quite frosty and foggy here in Shropshire. Coblet's fully clipped and he's out in a medium weight stable with a lightweight combo turnout on, he's nice and snug and seems happy enough :)

What have yours got on? :)

My cob is unclipped but will shiver in this constant rain and wind so has a rainsheet on with a full neck.
My 30 yr old boy has 100g full neck on.
Both dry as a bone underneath ,it's just me that's soaked from trapzing through the field to check on them :)

My w/b is fully clipped has a medium combo when out during the day and a heavy weight combo on at night at the moment..

This is my pony's rug:

Ooh I always wanted to join in these, lol! Both are hardy ponies in theory, but are sporting no fill lightweight rugs,as their current field is very exposed in this weather. First year I've ever done rugs, but I'm trying to save my other grazing, which has shelter, as it's never been rested in the Autumn, before.

Unfortunatley my rainsheet decided not to be very waterproof in the downpour we had a few days ago. He would normally be in that during the day and a fleece/possibly rainsheet over the top stabled overnight.

As it is, I can't let his backend get cold, especially whilst stabled because of his injury so he's in a 200g standard neck turnout day (if it's wet, nothing if it's dry) and night. Clip has nearly grown out but he will be getting a full clip soon and hopefully he will be fine in the 200g all the time.

Tb is full clipped and seems to be feeling cold this year and dropping weight so is in a heavy in the day and two rugs at jight( I still have his sub zero combo of rugs for when the snow hits!)

Appy is in his heavy in the day as his weight is perfect for his ems and a medium with neck attach at night as he is toasty in that.

WB mare has blanket clip, she is in a medium in the day, I take the neck or put it on depending in rain. And medium at night unless its frosty then a heavy.

Old mare is fully clipped and feels the cold so us in heavy day and her two rug combos at night.

They all have other rug combos for when freezing weather hits. No more than three rugs on and one of those is a fleece/waffle/very light weight quilt.

Both clipped and both in 100g no neck (are in their stables as it is biblical here!), if out then 100g turnout with neck for them, if not raining then 40g turnout no neck.

My TB was poor when I got him so he's not clipped and out 24-7 in a medium weight rhino. Our clipped out hunters are turned
Out During the day with heavy weight Rambo supremes with full
Necks.

My thin skinned tb who has her neck clipped off and a trace down her body is in her heavy weight combo turnout and just right :)

My welsh x tb x appy who has a full clip is in his medium weight combo and is just right.

My connie x ish 3 year old who is unclipped but very sensitive to the weather and difficult to keep weight on is in a medium weight combo and feels just right.

I am lucky enough that they live on site so can regularly check they are the right temperature.

This morning I would have said 1/2 neck m/w rug on my hunter clipped pony. But at lunchtime I found her shivering, I think it's because it's cold and wet. If it were dry the m/w would have been fine. Tomorrow she will be in her full neck h/w rug.
She's drying out and warming up in her stable this afternoon.

Mines clipped right out and turned out daytime in a Ruggles heavyweight with full neck (he hates the rain) which is really waterproof. Keeps it on in the stable at night with the neck cover turned back. Seems to stay a nice even temperature in that,. Is it EVER going to stop raining? Whine - moan!!!

Unclipped older horse (22 in Jan) in a 240g combo, living out on 4 acres 24/7

Blanket clipped with legs off 5yr old good doer native, in a 180g combo out 24/7 on just over an acre. Will get hay of she needs it but lives on air and plenty to browse on :)

My ISH is clipped and today wore a m/w rhino wug. My oldie is unclipped but feels the cold so she had her Rambo Duo with liner and neck on. Overnight they both have m/w rugs on as their stables are very warm

Mine are out 24/7 with lightweights on just because of the relentless rain, although they have a field shelter/hedging & a stable yard with open boxes they'll always be found either out in the middle of the field or huddled by the gate looking pitiful lol :D

Well I have to confess my 5 month old foal has a lightweight Amigo on tonight - but she does have what looks to be rainscald and also on the vets advice due to no stabling.

I might add she loves her rug.............what have I started!!

Mine is in a brand new lightweight, due to the beginnings of rain scald, and a lack of suitable alternative rug! She looked very smart going out this morning, 15 mins later and she had personalised it in her own inimitable style! Wouldn't know it was new now! If she rips it I will beat her! ;)

My hunter clipped tb in a 300g stable with neck and older boy trace clipped also in 300g with neck. Only getting turnout in sand paddock at the moment as fields so wet so they go out 200g turnouts with necks when out x
