What rugs have your horses got on at the moment?

Mine is fully clipped and in 2 heavyweight stable rugs tonight as was cold with less on!

Anyone who is waiting in the wings with a dergoatory comment obviously has way to much time on their hands.........my horse, I know him best, my choice.....END OF!!! :D

Rain sheet so he can be ridden (he comes in covered in thick wet mud otherwise and has just been signed off the sick :p)

Today I put him in this (full belly flap, very deep but thin, I love it! :o)

A mate says he looks like a knight's horse in it!!

A Heavy weight with two medium weights on top and then a light weight. I am thinking I should maybe pop a fleece or two under as well its now down to minus 1. What do you guys think do you think she would be warm enough.

She is a Norwegian Fjord pony.:p

I think I just wet myself laughing too hard.

fleece, duvet under rug, HW top rug and a rain sheet to stop her wrecking her good HW
she's hunter clipped living out 24/7
its currently -2 and threatening to snow - can see the clouds coming over

i find she gets colder in -3 to say plus 2 when its rainy/damp/foggy than when its say -12 to -18 and dry - she only has an extra fleece with belly flap on then as any more layers dont keep her any warmer - its the input (ad lib hay) thats most important then

ETA - her traditional type field mate is in a LW rain sheet as its due to snow - if not she'd be nakid - so its horses for courses rugging here - not just rugging because i like to ;)

Hunter clipped tb in 360g stable rug with neck with fleece underneath or 300g turnout if out in the day.
Older boy trace clipped 300g stable rug with neck, fleece under if minus temperature and 200 or 300g turnout if out on day depending on temperature. Will add underrug on tb if needed

Mine is a fully clipped thin-skinned Trakehner. She has to wear a Bossy's bib under all her rugs or her shoulders go bald and then sore in hours!

She's currently in a medium weight turnout rug with a 350g liner. She wears these night and day. So far she's looking ok and is keeping her condition. If she gets cold she loses weight (despite plenty of hay and haylage).

By contrast my ID X TB is as hairy as a yak and is out 24/7, nekkid. She's fat and happy. :)

I've just changed my boys' rugs as the temperature is averaging -1 degrees at the moment (-4 the other morning!). My golden oldie is in a heavyweight turnout rug with a neck as he is on the slim side (we're working on trying to get his weight back up). My 2yo is in a fullneck turnout rug which is awkwardly between a lightweight and a mediumweight. They will both stay in these rugs over winter unless the temperature gets warmer.

Nothing :D

She hasn't yet seen a rug but she's not cold despite it going into the minuses so I doubt she will see a rug all winter. Apart from maybe a rain sheet if its due to be really cold and rainy.

My wimpy welsh a is in a heavyweight combo with a fleece underneath and my hunter clipped Connemara is in a heavyweight combo, if it gets any colder I will add a 100g underneath both.

High trace clip (half face as well).. medium weight indoor with medium weight outdoor without neck, saving neck rugs for when the snow arrives (which someone said might be overnight :(
