Now thats a lot of grey exposed.... In very close range of mud...But it's so sunny and though hes maulted he wasn't clipped.....What yours in?

Please tell me some body else has a mamath groom ahead of them...?

If I hadn't clipped P out this week she too would be out today in just a rain sheet, however as she is fully clipped she is in a MW TO. She has that on at night too, with 2 thin rugs underneath as her pen is incredibly exposed.

im not sure if my grey is out ina rug today or not as YO turned him out!! if he is thank goodness, i hot bathed him yesterday because he was rank and if not...then i will sopend the next 5 hours trying tomake him a lighter shade of mud and nto ride! dont you just love greys!

Nothing at the mo as in the yard and stable.
Only a rain sheet if in the field and at night or when raining.
Both were blanket clipped at christmas so has nearly grown out now.

h/w turnout with m/w underneath at night, h/w turnout in day.

he sleeps in his turnout rugs as he uses stable rugs as dental floss!

the wind here is VERY cold, and its not sunny. Bloss is out with her HW PE rug on, but i took the neck bit off. Archie is out in his usual PE HW rug with the neck bit still on.

Gen is skewbald with a fair amount of white. He is a naturally warm horse and although he was clipped out fully he has been going out for the last few days naked.

He would have been in a lightweight rug but seeing as he trashed the one I got him after three days (cost £140 as well) and is too hot in the medium weight I thought what the hell!!!!

Mind you he comes in looking like a mud monster ..... there is no visible white as its so covered in mud lol.

Bit of a hard work grooming never did anyone any harm!!

Mine is in a m/w turnout without a neck and m/w @ night, but his stable is very sheltered. My mum's is in m/w with neck cos she's clipped. Its so mild now, im almost tempted to go with a rain sheet for the pair of them but maybe i'll wait a bit longer!!

The big lad who had been clipped ( think last season) by his owner is in a rhinegold blizzard rug turnout 300g fill ( no neck cover) and the cob is in a kingshead sapphire extra rug, 300g ( half neck).
I do tend to try and vary their rugs though depending on the weather and also to stop them from minging too much lol ( febreze works wonders lol).
For a few days this year when it has been quite warm though they have had a few hours in the sun with no rugs and last night in the stables they were rug free.
I do have stable rugs but don't use them much as they tend to sleep in their turnouts only because it is easier if I am in a rush than to change two lots of rugs over.

All of mine are as naked as the day they were born! They had a light weight rug on at night in their stables but I took them off mid December. Its been so warm that they were sweating up

. Ive now started to use anti fly spray before they go out. Vivaldi would have had a hard job composing the "Four Seasons" if he were alive today

Mairi.

Most of mine are still in their normal winter stable rugs at night (3 of them) and 1 or 2 through the day! They are still in as they have not yet finished the season! My little mare however is roughed off and only has her thin rug and neck cover on!

Milly is out in a LW turnout as she is a hot girl anyway.

Jerry was given a full clip last week so I bumped him back up to his 450g turnout. (he's an old lad)

But, while we have been having the sun I have popped up and changed them both just to shower sheets.

Need to sew Jerry's lighter (350g he, he) rug so I can pop him in that and then I will lower him again to 250g once his hair grows a bit!

Think the forecast for next week is quite nice but it is still dropping at night and mine live out 24/7.

I accepted a long time ago that Chex will remain brown all winter (and most of summer) so I don't fight it anymore, I can live with a "bay"! He's still had his hw full neck on, its sooooo cold!!

Sunny and Rum went out NAKED fr the first time today! So nice watching them roll, untill is saw how muddy they are! Otherwise all 4 are in their lightweights or mediums depending on the weather.

good grief If I turned Beacon out naked he would refuse to go out or if I made him he would freeze to death

he is only just going into his medium weight well 350g which is most peoples HW LOL

at night he is still in fleece and hw stable rug

Mine is still in is HW turnout as the wind is still quite cold. I was going to do down a weight this week when it was a bit warmer but hes still a wooly mammoth (unclipped) and i want him to lose it not make him keep it lol.

He's in a MW stable rug as its in a barn and is quite warm inside

We've now dropped our mare to a MW (not clipped but doesn't really grow a winter coat), welshie is in lightweight as he likes to look like a hippo and the field is sooo bad he still needs to be ridden!!!

hector went naked for the first time today, as was a lovely morning and hes not clipped, first thing he did was dive head first into the flooded section of the field, i am not looking forward to getting him clean later, he can have his LW turnout on tomorrow whatever the weather
tongue.gif

Jerry had a LW on today as he doesnt have as much hair as Hector

at night hector is in a LW stable rug, and jerry is in a MW one

Day - LW turnouts
Night - MW turnouts with necks

Bobbles has his Sweetitch hoody under whatever he wears
